Just finding other ways to motivate myself to lose the weight that I need to lose! As I look at others photos, I am so motivated and ready! I have a secret to share. Though I am overweight, actually obese on the new scales of what your weight is supposed to be based on height, I have always wanted to become a certified personal trainer, and compete in a local competition. When I was in the 7th grade, I used to lift weights, but was told I would look like a man and commanded to stop, so I did as I was told. I used to watch fitness competitions on tv and dream of that being me one. Can it be? Is that a goal that I can reach? I am 37 years old, and I believe that now is my time. Now is YOUR time. One of my favorite songs is "Living off the Wall", by Michael Jackson. He says, and I quote:

"Do what you want to do
There aint no rules its up to you
Its time to come alive
And party on right through the night....

....Life ain't so bad at all, if you live it off the wall"

We have to live our lives OFF THE WALL!!! LETS DO IT!!!

Alright, I am ready to share my measurements:

Fat %

I have another secret. I took a before picture and my belly is huge, huge, huge!! I am going to take a poll. If you are reading this and you think I should post my picture, let me know. If I receive more yes's than no's...Im gonna do it. Maybe it will help me, who knows. But trust me, its huge, Huge, HUGH+E!!!!!

If you go to the About Me on my Sparkpage, y ou can see my stats. I took measurements every month and pretty much saw consistent results every month, though it wasn't usually on the scale, but more in inches and clothes fitting looser. In Dec, 2008 I was wearing a size 14 and by May I was in an 8.

Time and Consistency are key. As long as you're doing the right things with exercise and diet, you will get the results. Most people who get results too quick end up putting the weight back on because they hadn't developed a lifestyle. Hope that helps!

P.S. Thank you so much for my SparkGoodie! - Tia

I used to run in the mid 90's but didn't do much for about 13 years. Then, when I realized I needed to do something about my weight, I decided to set a goal to do a 15k. I picked a 15k because that was the last race I had run in 1996. Little did I realize how much harder it would be with the extra weight! I googled for traning schedules and found Hal Higdon's and used it. I love his training schedules and also used it for my full marathon as well. They're totally free and he gives several options (novice, intermediate and advanced). From 5k's to Triathlons, he has schedules. Go to for them. You can do it! Here's a tip though: if you're gong to do a race, sign up immediately and tell EVERYONE you're going to do it and enlist people to come cheer you on at the finish line. This will keep you accountable and motivated. That's what I do with all my goals! Register or sign up, then tell the world! emoticon

It's not always easy, but it's so worth it and I try to keep it fun by having a great goal in front of me! - Tia
