Being from an Italian family, (I'm half Italian and half Irish) food played a BIG role in my life. Celebrations, Holidays, family get togethers and just everyday eat (manga manga). Food was a source of joy, comfort, social life, LOVE. I became confused about foods role in my life...I lived to eat, instead of eating to live! I desire La Vita Dolce (the sweet life) without having to over-consume too many sweets!! What would make my life meaningful and purposeful is finding joy and happiness from within myself and becoming passionate about living life to it's fullest!! I'm starting over away from the great start I had...and low and behold old habits come back quickly!

My Goals:
My goals are to eat healthier, become more physically active (EXERCISE), drink WATER, become my own best friend! Back in the good ole days I was athletic and enjoyed sports, basketball, swimming, biking, skiing, etc...and would love to do those things again!!

My Program:
Buying healthier foods, learning to cook instead of grabbing the quick fast-food or junk food...cutting back on coffee and substituting with green teas, herb teas, etc. Will begin an exercise routine slowly (due to physical limitations) that I enjoy, actually use my treadmill. Surround myself with positive supportive people.

Personal Information:
I am the mother of one teenage son. He's a freshman in college and I enjoy attending his activities especially basketball games. I live in rural outdoors and miss being active. Love the water and want to look good in a swimming suit!

Other Information:
One of my favorite books is, "Why do I love these People"...couldn't put it down and "Purpose Driven Life". Heros....Abraham Lincoln, Mother Theresa, Martin Luther King, Eleanor Roosevelt, Billy Graham, Helen Keller, Jesus! Favorite Movies: Moonstruck, Gladiator, As Good As It Gets. One of my favorite quotes..."Some battles have to be fought more than once to be won" Margaret Thatcher. Most Favorite by Mother Theresa...Final Analysis

Hi Anne - nice to meet you. I'm glad you took the time to write a note on my SP page. Sorry about the Irish-Italian ancestory ... seems the celiac rate is higher for JUST those two heritages actually! I'm 1/4 Irish, 1/4 Welsh, 1/2 Finnish (it's also high for the Finns - 1 in 99 school children according to one study). Most text I see says 1 in 133 may have celiac (based on random blood samplings) but only 1 in 4,700 have been diagnosed. So here I am trying to get the word out :).

A gluten-free diet helps SOME people with fibromyalgia. Google"fibro + gluten" and see what comes up. Maybe it will help you (or google "anti-inflammatory diets" ... and if it includes wheat - beware!)

Hi Debbie, Welcome aboard. We love it when new people join the group. You will find many answers to your questions on our site "Christians with Fibromyalgia", also lots of prayer. You can let your hair down with us and vent when needed. Please join us on the main forum (1st sticky note) often. That is where most of us hang out and we would really like to get to know you. Please stop by soon and share a little about your self so the rest of the gang can get to know you as well. Post often my friend...Karen

Welcome to Christians with Fibromyalgia. So glad you found us but soooo sorry you have fibro. I really like your user name. How did you go about picking it??? I adore our team and know you will find lots of really caring Christian sisters here. My hubby is also from Colorado-Colorado Springs to be exact. We are in Georgia now. His son still lives there so we visit often. It is a beautiful state but too cold for me this time of year. Let me know if I can help you in any way with your weight loss and health journey.
Hugs, Sarah (co-leader Christains with Fibromyalgia)
