Five years ago (October 23, 2008) I overdosed on my prescription drugs. Before that day I had an incurable lung disease (LIP), suffered from Sjogrens, weighed over 250 pounds, was dependent on supplemental oxygen 24 hours a day, and was deeply depressed. I spent much of my days bed ridden. I was addicted to opiates and valium because of chronic pain. On Oct 23, 08 I should have died but God called me back to life. I not only survived the overdose, but also survived the resulting inhalation pneumonia in both diseased lungs. Three months later I no longer needed oxygen during the day and six months later I discontinued supplemental oxygen completely. On the one year anniversary of the overdose my physician declared my lungs disease-free and completely healthy. She was shocked, and said there was no possible explanation for my health, especially of my lungs. The Sjogrens Auto Immune Disorder also disappeared! God HEALED me, and that's why I'm healthy today. My life has been turned upside down and I want to make the best of this new body!

My Goals:
I want to loose about 25 pounds, and build muscle mass. But most importantly I want to be a good example of healthy living for my three adult children!

My Program:
I chart my calorie intake and exercise. Secondly, I joined a fitness club at a physical therapy clinic in order to add cardio health in a careful way. (I have a titanium rod in my back.) And finally I'm developing a support system while doing all this.

Personal Information:
I'm a 60 year old woman who feels as though I'm getting a new start in life after being chronically ill for many years. I am completely healed! I believe in a living God who loves us beyond anything we can imagine.

Other Information:
I want to encourage anyone struggling with a mental illness such as Bi-Polar Disorder or chronic depression, physical disability or illness, or other trauma. I'm living proof there is hope for whatever situation you find yourself in.
