Hello there! I'am Apurva, a 25 year old girl, 5'2" and about 22 lbs Overweight. I have joined SparkPeople because I'm really in need to lose these pounds which have been preventing me from exploring a few possibilities of life...I want to be able to give a new lease to my life and I'm sure weight loss can bring this much sought after happiness and satisfaction to me...

Observations/Inferences: (22nd May)
1)Light/Moderate Cardio = No weight loss / loss is at SUCH SLOW RATE that a person gets bugged
2)Intense / Very Intense cardio with a good sweat for a couple of days = Sure shot weight loss
3)Heavy Dinners (esp in restaurants) = An indispensable weight gain the next day
4)No nutritional supplements for a couple of days(Aloevera + Aamla juice + Garlic tincture + Multivitamin tab )= Aggravated hair loss + feeling of weakness
5)Strenuous work-out in the morning = higher hunger levels throughout the day = improved metabolism for the particular day
6)Good sweaty Workout + being within calorie range everyday = weight loss upto a kg within 4-5 days
7) Good sweaty workout + exceeding calorie range everyday + binges now & then = NO WEIGHT LOSS of a Kg in 4-5 days/ Loss of a Kg after ages / No weight loss AT ALL (even upto a MONTH!)

My Goals:
My Goal is to reach that dream-weight of 47 Kg (104 lbs)...I believe I will be able to wear anything under the sun when I hit this target weight and look much more attractive than what Iam!

My Program:
I'm currently following a 100 Days Weight Loss Plan to help me reach my goal weight, which includes a disciplined caloric intake everyday and a religious routine of exercise. I keep a Diet Diary, wherein I feed my feelings, emotions and thoughts, plus my food intake and calories and also the various activities that performed in the day and the calories burnt. "Obsession" with this diet thingy is the new "MANTRA" for me.... ;)

    I can totally connect to the 'looking weak' thing. For me, it happened because my caloric intake was too low back then. Just make sure that you're eating a sufficient amount of food.
    My exams are going on right now, so I'm not doing any hardcore workouts but I'm sticking to the 30 day shred. (It works wonders every time. And level 2 kills me every time.) I have completed it a couple of times before, but its always a little hard when do the whole 30 day routine again after a certain gap. Maybe I need to stay consistent with my strength training too.
    Anyway, I'm going to have a summer break of about one and a half months and I plan to join a gym then. I'm not big fan of gyms as such (the monotony of using the same machines gets me after a while) but I'm a little fed up of doing workout videos right now and running has lost its charm because of the awful weather.
    And don't go lax on strength training. Its HARD when your muscles aren't strong enough but the results make every droplet of sweat, every aching muscle worth it! And it gets easier after every workout.
    As for uploading the pics, you can always set your page on private and choose your friends wisely. Frankly, I uploaded the pictures because I was sure that it'll be a source of motivation for people on here. I was a little paranoid about it too, but the response was so overwhelming that I didn't have the heart to take them down. But don't upload them if it bothers you.
    I plan to have a weigh in on 12th June, when my Summer Vacation officially starts and I'll take it from there. The goal is to reach 55 kg (I'm 59.something-ish right now I guess). I'm not too bothered about the number but I have found that weighing in keeps me on track.
    Tell me how your weigh in goes!!!!!!!! :)

    Its just 19th today and you crossed 750 fitness minutes. Greatttttt going friend.

    I am also planning for a 1000 fitness minutes in May and thats my short term goal. Hope to keep up to my promisses.

    Yeah, the exercise minutes can be hugely motivating! :)
    And the weight does seem to creep up when I start overindulging with food and go lax with my workout routine. It isn't that apparent to others (my dad always rolls his eyes when i tell him that I have gained weight, saying that I'm imagining things. And that the weighing machine is going haywire. Lol ) But I can always tell. And I 'feel' fat when I don't workout. Maybe its all in my head, but I always feel fit and lean after any form of exercise whatsoever :)
    As for workouts, I'm shuffling a couple of things right now. I have a plan to go for a run with my brother tomorrow morning. (And skip the 30 day shred)
    But I'm incorporating some form of the activity or the other every day. So it isn't exactly chaotic.
    I did read the first part of your blog but I was so overwhelmed that I couldn't mould my thoughts into words to actually leave a comment. I could connect to every single word written in that blog. Every. Single. Word.
    Its almost as if every single Indian gal who has even an ounce of extra flesh on her body goes through the same journey.... and it isn't pretty.
    But it gave me wisdom beyond my years and the gift that I'll never harbor pre-conceived notions about anyone, ever.
    Anyway, I'm glad to see that you're so pumped up about your workouts and have an unyielding desire to get fit. Its SO motivating!!!!!!!! Keep it up. You are an inspiration!!
