Yep. I am back again. I am still occasionally bitter about the random, rare, chronic autoimmune disorder that derailed my running over six years ago. That being said, it has also made me a much more grateful, empathetic, insightful person for which I am well, grateful.

My arthritis started flaring again back in January and I have been working with my rheumatologist to change drugs, get on prednisone, get off prednisone, and try and get back to a life where pain and fatigue don't dictate my days.

I am getting there. Slowly. For various reasons, one being skepticism and another being petulance, I have resisted making any kind of commitment to more holistic remedies to help me such as an anti-inflammatory diet, meditation, or regular yoga practice. But moving forward with those things, taking baby steps and seeing what works and what doesn't, could only help. It is not like eating less refined sugar and more kefir is going to make bad things happen to me. And exploring these things fit into my goal of learning new things.

    Sorry to hear arthritis and other problems make it hard to exercise.
    Have you tired Chair Exercises?
    I do them when my arthritis kicks in. Or my feet hurt.
    They are fun and easy. If you need a challenge look at Caroline's page.
    Caroline Jordan is a fitness coach.
    She helps people with ankle injuries, diabetes, osteoporosis ect.

    Caroline is sweet and she takes it slow with you.
    You don't have to go fast with her exercises if you don't want to.

    Crustless Pumpkin Pie

    Ingredients
    15 oz can Libby's 100% Pure Pumpkin
    12 oz can Evaporated Milk, Fat Free
    1/2 cup Egg substitute, liquid
    1 tsp Pumpkin Pie spice
    1 tsp Vanilla Extract
    3-4 tsp Splenda

    Tips
    Serve with a dollop of Fat Free Cool Whip

    Directions
    Preheat oven to 400°F.

    Combine all ingredients.

    Spray 4 individual corning ware dishes (grab-it's) with Pam.

    Pour mixture into dishes.

    Bake at 400 F for 15 minutes.

    Reduce heat to 325 F and continue baking for about 45 minutes or until a knife comes out clean.
