    Welcome to SP! Your teaching job sounds very rewarding. Everyone here is more than happy to help you. Your success here on SP motivates our success, too.

    About tips, you know the best thing I found in the beginning months was the nutrition tracker. But that success begins before that at the grocery store in the items that you choose. I learned NOT to skip meals and to count on protein to keep me fuller longer. And if the scales aren't giving you what you want, get out the tape measurer. Chances are you'll have lost inches someplace. and that'll put a smile on your face.

    One of the most important things I learned was not to deprive myself of anything that I wanted to eat. If I just HAVE to have that bowl of ice cream or slice of pie, I have it. AND I log it in my nutrition tracker. As long as I don't go over my calories for the day I am fine but it doesn't leave room for much else so I learned to do it only occasionally. I don't know about you but if you tell me I can't have something, I've got to have it even more so giving myself this freedom has helped me stay on a diet for 7 straight months now.
