My name is Amy and I live in Western Nebraska. I have been trying to lose weight and get healthy since my daughter was born in December 1999. I am committed to getting there after many attempts. I used to be very healthy and cannot wait to get back to that.

My spark journey has been a roller coster ride. I started out very slowly and almost gave up. I have found some great spark friends and spark teams that keep me going. I was down to my lowest weight in almost 15 years in late 2010. I was at 131 only 15 pounds away from my goal weight.

In November 2010 I got injured at work. I had a pretty bad hip injury. I was at one time unable to any physical activity for almost a month straight. Needless to say I gained back 20 pounds. I was so used to burning thousands of calories a day at my job that I still wanted to eat that way even when I was unable to do anything. I am back to almost 100% or at least as close to it as I am going to get. I have restarted my program and am working to get back to where I was and ultimately achieve my goal weight of 115 pounds. I peaked at 151 pounds. I have really dedicated myself to watching the calories I put in my body vs. the calories I burn. I am keeping track daily in my online journal. I am happy to say that so far I am down 2 lbs. I am hopefully well on my way back to achieving my goals.

I am still struggling with weight loss even though I have reached a plateau and am not gaining weight any more. I am very frustrated because I know what it takes exercise wise for me to lose the weight, but I know that my body cannot endure that at this point. My hip will probably never heal so I am struggling with finding ways to burn the kind of calories I need to burn. To add to all of this I have taken on a second job so time is a serious issue. I am just taking one day at a time and doing what I can do.

May 2014 update. I am at the highest weight I have ever been. I struggle with pain and so I have no motivation to work out. I am tired all the time. I am trying to just get 10 minutes a day in for exercise right now and 8 glasses of water.

My Goals:
1. Exercise consitently (5 days a week for at least 30 minutes). I will also meet my calorie burn set by SP every week and will keep track by tracking my fitness minutes.

2. Eat healthy. I will use SP meal plans. I will track my calories as well as my nutrients daily. I will stay in my set ranges. I will use SP daily nutrition report to keep track of how I am doing.

3. I will achieve a healthy BMI and weight. My goal weight is 116. I will weigh in weekly and post weight on SP. I will measure success in 5 pound increments.

My Program:
I am trying to become more involved in challenges to keep my motivation up. Working to consistently track my food.
Started the Nebraska 5% challenge for fall.

    Hi Amy!

Just wanted to check in and see how your week has been going. I'm on vacation and down in Tennessee right now. I'll get caught up with points, etc hopefully late tomorrow evening or on Saturday. I may have to let Lisa know that I probably won't get weighed in until Sunday.

How's your week going? How are you doing with not eating late? I did have a bad night last night - we just didn't get around to eating dinner until late. And I noticed a big difference in how I slept. So there's something to be said for eating a few hours before bed time.

But I dread the weigh in. I picked a not so good time for vacation - right in the middle of a challenge. I think next week I'll just have my mouth wired shut!

Hope you're doing good and have a great Friday!

Just wanted to see how your week is going. Things are fine here - today I was down a pound but I gotta kick it up a notch if I'm going to make 5%. I'm more like on track for 2%.

Hope you had a good week. Hopefully the snow didn't last long. We're supposed to get some good soaking rains overnight - we sure could use it.

I'm leaving tomorrow for vacation but am taking my laptop so I can check in. I'll be sure to weigh in before I leave tomorrow and get you my points and weight.

    Have a great weekend!
