I joined Sparkpeople in April 2010 and lost about 12 pounds to reach my goal weight in about 2 months. I've been through periods when I'm very active on SparkPeople, and other periods when I'm not.

I've been through some life stuff the past 5 years or so. Diagnosed with thyroid nodules, I've had a few episodes of depression, and since my Mom passed away in 2018 I've had bouts with panic attacks and anxiety. My younger son has some behavioral issues which we've been trying to get to the bottom of for quite some time.

I'm very thankful to have a very supportive group of friends, and also very thankful that I really enjoy exercise (cardio!). It's challenging for me to not overdo things and get injured. I also don't really enjoy weight training, but I know it's important for strong bones, good metabolism, and my father in law swears it helps his blood glucose! So I try to pay attention to keeping things moderate, and also incorporating weight training.

I really enjoy reading SparkPeople success stories. While I'm not overweight according to doctor's guidelines, I'm heavier than I was when I felt healthy and strong. So I will keep on trying and keep on tracking.

My Goals:
Some of my current goals are:

1. Achieve goal weight of 135 by January 29, 2021.

2. Reduce body fat from 31% to 25% by January 29, 2021.

3. Walk 10,000 steps every day

4. Drink 8 glasses of water a day

5. Wear a size 8 pants again!

My Program:
1. Tracking steps with my Apple Watch

2. Tracking water and food daily

3. Riding my bike or going running 5 times a week

4. Doing calisthenics or stretch bands/light weights in my home 2x a week

5. Moving with my kids whenever possible and making it fun!

Personal Information:
I'm a mom to two boys, a former college swimmer, and started doing sprint triathlons about 3 years ago.

    After reading your blog and now your info, I had a flashback to my much younger self.

    However, you are wiser than I. While I considered myself fit, I didn't run a step until our daughter joined the track team in HS. I wanted to see how far I could run. Lasted 15 seconds. I got serious after that.

    All my races have been cancelled too. I will do 2 virtual ones if only to support the organizations who sponsor them.

    It’s cold outside, but Spring is coming! Are you ready to join a Challenge? The Biggest Loser Challenge is looking for members for it’s next Challenge starting the first week of March.
