I am tired of wishing that I had been brave enough to do something. I have realized that fear of failure is a big motivator- or motivation thief in my life.

Why, am I so afraid to try to loose weight and get into shape?
Because if I truly give my best efforts and fail.... it will be the most heartbreaking thing in my life. I would forever be stuck! I would be permanently forced to live the fat-girl existence that I currently enjoy! I am not sure how I could handle that kind of failure... so, I just don't. I just sit back and tell myself that if I wanted to... (and I will next Monday) I could drop the weight and get back to the athletic, fun life that I want.
The fact that I can now recognize this certainly doesn't make it easier to get up and change it. However, I am realizing more and more that I am not ok with getting to the end and looking back at my life being run by fear instead of by me!
So, here I am. Will power at a minimum, and trusting that somehow God will help me to overcome my fear, and live the life I want.
I would love to meet and get to know any of you. I am enjoying being a beginner in the Spark World.

My Goals:

My Program:
I would like to make lifestyle changes. So I am taking it slow, making better food choices. Watching calories. working out 5 days a week. Drinking tons of water and spending lots of time asking for God to give me the strength to make the changes. I have been trying most of my life to do it on my own... that has not worked! But... I CAN do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

Personal Information:
My name is Amy. I have lived all over the world. I just got back from living in South East Asia for 2 years. I live in Minnesota!
I am 32 and looking forward to the future.

Other Information:
I got this from someone else's page, sorry I don't know who, but it has been helping me a lot lately. I suppose I am somewhat of a perfectionist, so I am learning to give myself a break...

Hello, Amy! Look at you go, girl! Keep up the good work.

Stopping by to check in and see how you are doing and to hopefully encourage your journey. I am focused this month on my way of thinking about food and health issues. Proverbs 23:7 says, "For as he thinks within himself, so he is" (NASB). Our thoughts greatly influence the things we do and I am realizing that I too easily revert back to old habits because I am not convinced in my heart and mind of some changes I need to make. So I am deliberately working to take every thought captive to obedience, recognizing those thought processes and search out new ideology / theology to correct my belief system where health issues are concerned. I pray for you and I today as we work to change from the inside out in ways that make us new creatures through and through.

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile, but you have to sigh,
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,
And many a failure turns about,
    When he might have won had he stuck it out;
Don't give up though the pace seems slow--
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than,
It seems to a faint and faltering man,
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup,
And he learned too late when the night slipped down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out--
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt,
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems so far,
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit--
It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

“Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. Each one must do just as he has purposed in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed….” 2 Corinthians 9:6-15

“Therefore I run in such a way, as not without aim; I box in such a way, as not beating the air; but I discipline my body and make it my slave, so that, after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified.” 1 Corinthians 9:26-27

These two verses found in Scripture have wisdom for us as we press forward to reclaim health. I pray that this wisdom will fill you up and carry you successfully to the goal.

Stopping by from Prayer Walking team to see how you are doing. I am excited to see your progress. And I pray to our Father on your behalf that He will lead you into all truth in your healthy lifestyle journey, equipping you along the way to make needed changes from the desires of your body, to the action steps in dealing with them. May He bless you with improved habits, restored health, and long life.
