Like so many others, over the years I have let the weight creep up on me. I have been a yo-yo dieter for the last 15 years and can't count the times I have lost weight only to gain it back. I have let myself become addicted to junk/fast food, to the point that eating healthy food is not appealing. I know my tastebuds have to be retrained to enjoy healthy food, and with the help of Sparkpeople I AM GOING TO SUCCEED!!! I especially love the Nutrition Tracker. You just don't realize how poor your nutrition is until you see it in a graph right before your eyes. I was eat up with perfectionism--if I couldn't be perfect in sticking to a plan, I just did nothing. WRONG thing to do. FORGIVE, FORGET AND FORGE AHEAD!!! That's my new motto, and I CAN AND WILL DO THIS!!!!

My Goals:
I want to feel good again, have more energy, less aches and pains, and lose 40 pounds. I want to break the fast food habit and train my body to CRAVE healthy foods.

My Program:
I am trying to live by the rule "If you bite it, write it, if you nibble it, scribble it" to keep myself accountable for what I eat. I am moving more and doing strength training a minimum of 2 days a week, trying to get in cardio on at least 3 days a week, more when I can.

I'm tired of feeling older than I am. I want to feel younger, have more energy, be able to play with my grandchildren and feel good while I am doing it. I want to eat to live and not live to eat. I have been a yoyo dieter long enough and want to rid myself of that black "need to lose weight" cloud that is aways hanging over my head.

    Just had a chicken sandwich and fries for lunch. Noooooo, I did not blow it. The chicken sandwich was a Morningstar Farms no meat chicken patty on a Nature's Own whole wheat sandwich round, with one tsp Dukes Light Mayonnaise, some sliced tomatores, spinach leaves, pepper and a tad of salt. The fries were oven baked butternut squash fries seasoned with a little olive oil spray and some pepper. It was yummy. Washed it all down with a tall glass of water. Oh, I also had a dill pickle on the side. Yeah, salt, I know, but all in all a pretty healthy lunch. emoticon

    Your post below is so true. I was surprised a how sad I was when a sparkfriend passed away last summer. Every day is a gift. It's up to us to use it fully or let it sit there.
