I have always been overweight, for as long as I can remember. My weight struggles started when I was in the third grade. My mom was forever restricting my food intake, telling me I was fat, forcing me to get up at 6 a.m. every day to exercise, etc. This is when my abusive relationship with food began.

To this day, I am an emotional eater. I eat when I'm sad, depressed, happy, excited, anxious, nervous.. basically any mood I have, I eat.

I am a mom to two boys - a six year old and a seven week old. We struggled for two years to get pregnant with our second, and in the course of that two years I put on 30 pounds. Then when I finally got pregnant, I gained another 31 pounds. At 5' tall, I'm seriously overweight.

I want to lose this weight and get healthy, and stop eating when I feel emotion. To start my journey, I will not be counting calories or tracking exercise. My first two baby steps are :

1. Up my water intake, drink whenever I feel like eating for all the wrong reasons; and
2. Write a blog when I feel like eating for all the wrong reasons.

Let us begin.
