I am working hard to change my life, not just my body. This obviously is a work in progress as I have much to learn and even more to do.

I am looking for as many friends as I can find right now at SparkPeople to help keep me motivated and on track. Finding friends that I can help in return is equally as important to me.

Helping others is perhaps the most rewarding thing there is, to me anyway.

I have a new goal. While I work on myself, I hope that I can become an inspiration and motivator for my fellow friends here at SparkPeople. Please don't hesitate to let me know if I can help you in some way, or if I've been able to help you already. Through this validation I will know if I've met my goal. :)

My Goals:
GOAL # 1
I am eating healthier and exercising regularly to be healthy, happy, and fit.

Long term: Lose 50 lbs by Feb 2011
Medium term: Lose 20 lbs by June 1 2010
Short term: Lose 1 lb per week

Goal # 2
I am moving to Phoenix AZ the summer of 2010.

Long term: Living in Phoenix area by summer of 2010
Medium term: Setup interviews by the end of March
Medium Term: Find a place to live in Phoenix
Medium Term: Find a job in Phoenix
Short term: Apply for jobs weekly
Short term: Begin organizing to make the move easier
Short term: Look for a place to live

Goal # 3

Long Term Goal: Complete Training Program for 5K goal
Medium Goal: Race in the 5K on June 5th, 2010
Short Term Goals:
1-Research training plan so I understand it and know what to do.
2-Begin plan by Monday March 15th.
3-Make time in my schedule to fo

My Program:
I am eating much healthier foods, and improving until I find the perfect balance. I am working out almost daily. I do at least 3 full body workouts with 35 minutes of cardio a week, and the other days as much cardio as I can handle. I am tracking my calories and workout to view progress and see areas that need improvement.

    Hi Tara! I am so glad that you have joined SP and are beginning your journey to a Healthy Lifestyle. Take your time and learn to be sure of your goals. I read your blog entry and your comments on the "Moving Forward Through Grief and Loss" Message Board. You have been walking a difficult path and I am sorry that you´ve been hit by so much grief. You are right on about the things that you have shared and I look forward to more interaction with you.

    I am 54 yrs old, close to your Mom´s age. How her heart must have ached knowing that she was leaving you, your children, your brother, her husband, and others she so cherished. You can count on those of us who have had the experiences of loved ones passing to be uncritical and encouraging as you set sail for this adventure!
