I moved to the USA from England in Summer 2008 and since moving I've put on a bunch of weight. Fast forward a couple of years, a weight loss of 30lbs and a baby later - some of the weight has crept back on. I want to develop a healthy lifestyle, lose some weight and take control of my life so I feel good about myself again as well as happy and proud of how I look. I also want to be a good role model for my baby as he grows up and for him to develop good healthy eating habits :)

I joined Spark in October 2008 when I was at my lowest and started making some good changes: drinking 8 cups of water a day, making healthy meals. I am determined to not burn out - I am going to remain motivated through being as active as I can with a baby in my Teams!

I'll fill this in as I develop my healthy lifestyle. I will include my exercise/activity program, what I try to eat and any information I have picked up that I have found useful - hopefully it will help other people as well :)

♥Nutrition: Track food. Eat at least three meals a day. Keep within Spark calorie limit. Aim to eat 5 servings of fruit/veg per day. Drink 8-10 cups of water a day. Allow small treats in sensible portion sizes. Don't deny myself anything I enjoy in moderation.
♥Cardio: Complete 10 minutes of cardio a day at least five days a week. It's a low goal, but I want something realistic as I balance my life with a baby - if I can do more then great! Hopefully I can build up to longer stretches and maybe even incorporate my son!
♥Strength: Carry out challenges on Spark to complete strength training. Aiming for 10 minutes a day, or fit in sets of reps for upper, core or lower each day, rotating on a daily basis.

My Goals:
*To drink at least 8-10 cups of water a day
*To do 10 minutes of exercise every day - either strength or cardio
*To compile a list of (free!) rewards for myself that don't include food
*To make sensible food choices that don't deprive me of what I enjoy
*To lose 5lbs by the end of April
*To lose 10lbs total by the end of May

My Program:
Currently not a lot - keeping up the house and looking after my 3 month old baby is about it for the moment - but this will change soon!
