We welcomed Ava Marie on October 23, 2010, at 12:01 a.m. by c-section due to breech position. She was 19" and 5lb3oz. I am looking forward to losing the baby weight through healthy eating, exercise (after 6-8 weeks of recovery, unfortunately), and breastfeeding. :)

***************

I'm a Kindergarten teacher in Milwaukee, WI. I got married July 2009 and have been trying to maintain my pre-wedding weight loss of about 40 lbs. I recently found out I am pregnant - due November 2010 - and am going to try to maintain healthy eating and exercise levels throughout this pregnancy.

I completed my first half marathon on May 1st, 2010, at 12 weeks pregnant. I ran the first 4 miles with friends, then began taking walk breaks as needed to keep my heart rate down. Two bathroom breaks, lots of water, a hammer gel, and 2 hours 31 minutes later I crossed the finish line and earned myself a finishers' medal! Woohoo!!

I completed a sprint triathlon June 13 in 1:47. I also lost a friend that day at the triathlon.

********************

I am always looking for new friends to keep me motivated, discuss running, babies or teaching, or just talk about life, so feel free to add me as a friend or send me a message. :)

My Goals:
Workout regularly - 15 minutes each day, as well as strength training and/or cardio at least 45 minutes 3 times/week.

Stop relying on soda to get my perk in the afternoon. (9/1/09 - I'm still sticking to this, since last October. Now, I am able to have a sip occasionally and not want to down the whole can. I avoid it at all times, though!)

My Program:
I am making healthier food choices, doing Body Pump (weight lifting class) twice a week, and cycling twice a week, and running!

I'm sorry that you are so overwhelmed. Is it just the new group of students? You were on a roll with the Insanity workout! I know how easy it is though to get off track. What do you think would help you get back on track?

No plans right now for another baby but we have scheduled (we are dorks like that) THE TALK for May so that we can touch base and see where we are at then. Things are really unstable right now with DH's job so I don't know what will happen in the next few months.

How are you and Ava doing? I've been gone for a while but I'm trying to get caught up with everyone. Did you have a good Christmas?

Good for you getting meals planned ahead to help you now that you are back at work! I can't imagine how exhausted you must be after chasing 4 year olds around and then playing with an active 10.5 month old!

I've decided to do this 10K program: http://running.about.com/od/racetraining/a
/10Kbeginner.htm. The runs during the week are much shorter so I can work in some high intensity intervals to increase my space. My middle sister sent me a plan (she's been a runner for forever) where you do short bursts of a faster speed mixed in with slower intervals of running until you get a feel for what the faster pace feels like.

Arianna's doing well. She is really stubborn and independent which can make for some difficult days. She gets so angry when something doesn't work like she wants it to. For example, she'll push her toy box while walking behind it but when it gets caught on something or pushed up against the wall she starts to scream! If you've seen the documentary "Babies" she is like the baby girl who kept throwing a temper tantrum because the blocks (or whatever she was playing with) weren't staying like she wanted them to. It does mean that we get to experience a fun, curious baby but it can also be trying!

I enjoy the speed of the video. I get bored when things don't move along; that's why I've never gotten into pilates or yoga.

Fantastic job on your weight loss and meeting your fitness goals too! You are set to have a great time in AZ almost like a reward for your success!

How did your run go? When you were working up to the half marathon did you do anything for 10K? I'm trying to find a program that I can do outside that helps me work on my pace and my distance. I've found programs that are good for that if you are on a treadmill and can breakdown your distance into much smaller bits but I'd have to do a lot of mapping to figure out the smaller distances. I want to get a Garmin which will help me with that but that might be a little bit away!

How are you feeling with being back in the classroom?

30DS is 30 Day Shred...my sister just always shortens it to 30DS. It is one of the Jillian Michael's DVDs. I'm still running so I'm treating it like my way to get in some strength.

It sounds like insanity is going great. How are you doing getting to your goals before AZ? When do you leave for that trip?
