All these things come with work and I have had moments of success that is very rewarding, and the life takes over and you seem to fall off the wagon for sometime. I want to be in charge of my life and maintain a healthy balance that allows me to have all of these things and much more.

My Goals:
Become aware of a decision before I make them not after.

Intentionally exercise at least 3x a week.

Choose whole healthy foods as a regular eating plan

My Program:
-Slow down and be intentional about the decisions I make.
-I will dedicate one day a week to shopping and meal prepping.
-Focus on engaging my body and being more intentional about my fitness. Hiking, Walking w/ my dog, Running w /my dog.
-Educate and learn about different healthy foods and different exercises.
-Reflect at least once a week on what I was successful with and what I can improve.

Personal Information:
I'm a 30 year old single graduate student who has hit a point in her life where depression has pretty much kicked my butt for most of my life. I've been in too many relationships that just don't workout and I've allowed that pain to turn into emotions that I just haven't ever dealt with. I'm on a journey to fix that which includes becoming more aware of what I'm eating, and how I move my body. I've read countless articles and papers about the importance of exercise especially for people who struggle with depression and I'm here to learn how to incorporate that into a new way of healthy living.

    I'm no expert on macros, but I've calculated my own as well as used online calculators on and There are other resources as well. I noticed I did best before when my carb and protein ratio was equal so 40% calories from, protein 40% carbs, and 20% fat. Some people do better with more carbs or protein. There are many good articles on macros at

    Yep, that's it! Macronutrients are protein, carbs, and fat. I don't prepare many recipes and keep my food really simple because it's just easier. I have used to calculate recipes in the past to figure out the nutritional info. It's just a little time consuming at first, but once you get the recipes in there and saved it is helpful. Then those recipes will show up so you can track them like other foods.

    Thanks for commenting on my blog! I know what you mean about the heat. Today I will be running in the afternoon when it's like a hundred degress out, but I want to go with my husband and that's the price I will have to pay HAHAHA. Some days we can go early morning which is way easier than after 3pm in the heat and humidity.
