I'm back to the place that made the journey easier - SPARKPEOPLE!!! I lost over 100lbs from 2009 - 2014. I was fit - I was healthy! When people asked me how I did it - the answer really is simple. Hard work. Dedication. Commitment to myself. Commitment to nourishing my body and exercising and being mindful of everything that I did.

I so desperately wanted to tell them that there is an "easy" fix. That this product or that product will solve your problems for life. But that thought is a lie. The desire is real - but the actuality is a one big fat lie. It all boils down to eating well, sleeping well and exercising your body.

Imagine how cranky I am to look back and admit that! And now to look back and realize that what changed was my failure to keep my commitment to myself. A PROVEN formula. So frustrating!

So here I am to reset - building from ground zero. Desiring a step-by-step progressive and consistent process

YES you can. Yes I can. Yes I am. This is a lifetime journey. This is not a 12 week program. This is a lifetime - don't leave - don't get distracted. FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS!

I hope that I inspire you to start - and if you have started to continue! We are WORTH it!

My Goals:
I want to ADVENTURE and be comfortable doing it!

I want to ride a horse in Spain!

I want to be comfortable on an airplane!

I want to be able to sit cross-legged in a pair of levi's.

I want to be active at 72.

My Program:
I am taking it one hill at a time.

First, I am being honest about what I put in my mouth and assessing where my calorie content is. Currently I am HORRIFIED.

Second, I am walking soon to be elliptical training my way to movement.

Third, I am here everyday exploring the site and trying hard to meet wonderful people with similar goals who want to adventure!

Personal Information:
I'll be 51 on Easter Sunday - and although I thought that I would be all healthy and happy I have slowly allowed the weight to come back on a little bit at a time each year - and viola! I'm right back up here again - I will not grow old and be immobile or incapable!

Congrats on being motivator of the day!!! I am at the place where you are . I started SparkPeople in 2010 and lost 30 pounds. I was so happy because it took so long to do it and I did it. I have gained over 50 pounds during the ten year span. So I have to lose 50 pounds now. I just turned 50 last April and I will be 51 this April. My health is not fairing as well as when I was 40. I don't want to grow old and be in more pain or on tons of meds.

So, I know Spark works and I am sticking to the plan that I know works and I will be satisfied with the food they tell me to eat. I am moving each day and I am looking forward to a older life of movement and not sedentary like I was before. I actually joined a Senior Center (as in my town you can start as early as 50). It sounds crazy because I feel like I am 12 in there, but I did it because they have amazing activities relatively for free and wanted to see myself 20 years from now..What happens when people get older to see what some can do and what some others cannot do. I want to be the older person that can do things! They have tons of activities that are relatively free, like Clogging and Zumba and Ballroom dancing and line Dancing. On my days off I go there and participate. I want to keep moving as the past 4 years have basically been sitting on the couch or in the car, or when I eat, and when I go to a movie or whatever. There was not a lot of hours standing and moving. I am keeping myself accountable to that.
As for you, I wish you well and hope you have a group that you need to help support you with your decision for a healthier life. If you need one there is an active group in Spark that is called the Beck Diet Solution (based on a book for emotional eaters) Its great! We are starting the book in October and also read it in March (just two times a year) . It is a 40 day read where (they don't tell you what to eat) but the book helps you with the psychology of eating well and sticking with the diet you chose for yourself so you don't fall into the traps of eating what you are pressured to eat at parties or during the holidays or whatever, and even more than that. It challenges you to eat slower and sitting down when you eat at all times. Being Mindful etc.
Join us if you are looking for an active group.

Good luck with your weight loss journey.
