    I am going to have to look up those things you talked about...IOWL, to Thoe Reasonable Diet and Fitday? That's like one of those straps you wear on your arm?


    My BF no longer has diabetes because his body recovered from tissue damage from chemotherapy. He used to be a firefighter and never had to watch his weight. I nagged him a lot because his blood sugar was so close to normal, I thought he could control it with diet. He never checked his blood sugar for a year and his doctor gave him an A1C this January. Now his glucose in normal range. Its totally unfair, but considering he still has to deal with chemotherapy, I thank God that he won't have complications of diabetes on top of everything else.

    PS. Sorry if I was confusing. My BF first had leukemia and the chemotherapy damaged his heart and pancreas. He had a bypass surgery a week after chemo and within six months he then developed diabetes. It took a year for his body to replace the beta cells in his pancreas and he no longer has diabetes.

    Hi, For breakfast I normally have 1/2 cup oatmeal made with 1 cup 1% milk, cooked in the microwave. Depending on my mood, I'll add 1 TBSP peanut or roasted almond butter (protein & fat), or 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce, canned pumpkin, or sliced banana. If I have the fruit, I'll add 2 TBSP ground flax meal (fiber). If the banana is really ripe, I don't use any sweetener. I usually add cinnamon, regardless of what I put in the oatmeal.

    When I want eggs, I sometimes have 2 eggs scrambled, with 2 Jimmy Dean Turkey sausage links & 2 pieces of Sara Lee Delightful multi-grain toast. I make it a sandwich.

    If I have bread at breakfast, that's all the bread I'll eat for the day. Either breakfast holds me until lunch, because both contain protein, some fat & fiber, and both are in the 350-375 calorie range.

    Hi there. Thanks for your nice comment about my comment, haha. I frequently dream of being able because I need to do so to stay healthy, not because I'm motivated by the thought of consuming as many delicious french fries as possible (ugh). I like how one of your goals is two "eat as clean as possible". I've started trying to think this way. Very tricky, especially with all the poor options so readily available.

    It's a wonder I actually stayed away so long considering how amazing you are! Wow! Thanks so much for taking the time to send a "welcome back" note and balloons goodie. I may have been here in spirit -- though not in effort, I have to admit - all along. I gained back almost every pound I previously lost over the 5+months I've been "away" but won't let that get me down. It was impossible to concentrate on everything that I had to at once so certain things (including myself) had to take a back seat and I'm okay with that because this will be a new year of fresh starts on many different fronts. So glad you're here to share it with! I really appreciate all of your support and your friendship. 2013 will definitely be the year to make things happen. Just a little more catching up to do first and then I can finally, fully, put focus on me... something I'm very much looking forward to!
