I have never been "that girl" who could eat whatever she wanted and get away with it. OK maybe when I was 7. :) Well, it's been 20 years since then and through my teen years and up until now- I've struggled with my weight. At my highest weight I was 182llbs and at my tiny 5'1 frame that was a lot to carry.

Well it's been over a year since and I've finally made my peace with my own body demons and waved a white flag at my screwy relationship with food. I joined SparkPeople decided it was time to make changes.

I'm still on my journey and I keep reading, researching, learning and fine tuning my "directions" so to speak, but I have ultimately decided that no matter what program, regimen, or guide I follow- I want to achieve 2 things:

1. To honor, enjoy and thrive in the body God gave me.

2. To work WITH my body instead of against it- using nutrition as my #1 ally followed by living an active lifestyle.

I vow not to deprive myself of anything, be it in the form of nutrition, sleep, rest, knowledge, or successes.

Today I vow to be my own #1 fan. No more self-sabotaging, no more fat talk, no more self pity. Because honestly, all of that takes too much effort and is a waste of time!

It's time to take care of business. No excuses- excuses are annoying.

My Goals:
1. Run a race with a 10 min mile pace or faster.

2. Be able to see my ab muscles for the first time ever. (I am not asking for a 6 pack yo- just definition!)

3. Be able to do 5 pull ups!

4. Complete a sprint tri!

My Program:
My motto now a days is:

Practice restraint not deprivation. I don't believe in depriving the body of any type of macro nutrient.

Deprivation causes me to binge so I don't do it.

As far as working out.. my motto is..JUST GET OUT THERE AND DO IT!

Run a half marathon (1/3/08 done!!!)

Run a full marathon! (Done! 3/2/08!)
