My name is Angelica. A friend told me about SparkPeople so I decided to give it a try as I seriously need to lose some weight and get more fit.

I have 3 fabulous teenage boys who are the light in my life. My oldest son graduated in 2008. My middle son graduates in May 2010 and I also have a freshman!! Wow..where does the time go???

I am a full time college student and just earned my Associates Degree in Business Administration. I am continuing on to earn my Bachelors with an emphasis in Human Resource Management. In addition, I work full time. It doesn't leave much family time or exercise time but I am trying to make exercise a priority!

I really like to scrapbook (mostly digi), read, sew, cross-stitch, and belly dance. I also love wasting time on my computer. What I mostly end up doing, however, is studying a lot!

My Goals:
My most immediate goal is to work on my McDonald's addiction!! It's so hard!!

My 2nd most immediate goal is to start exercising regularly, even if it is just a few minutes a day to begin with.

My Program:
I am trying to get to the gym 3 times a week right now. School is not in session so it is a bit easier. I hope that once I get the habit established over the summer, I will be able to more easily continue once the semester starts again n the fall.

I currently do about 30 minutes of cardio on an elliptical glider. Once that is done, I head downstairs to the weight room.

I really enjoy doing weights and have hit on a combo of machines and free weights. I don't like doing arm exercises on the machines so that is where I do free weights. I try to get in 30-45 minutes of weigh lifting after my cardio.

Personal Information:
I am a life long Alaskan and currently work and go to school full time. I just completed my 2nd year back at college as an older student. I am very motivated to get good grades and am hoping that the support found here will help me get as motivated to lose weight!

I will be hitting 40 this year and the reality of aging it really setting in!! I need to get more healthy and I need to do it NOW before my metabolism slows down even more.

    Thank's for the comment on my blog. I was starving and got Taco Bell for lunch but will watch my intake for the rest of the day. I should have a couple of hours tonight between work and activities to grocery shop. I'll have to get "easy foor" for the rest of the week since I will not be home at night and will need to pack all of my food for the day in the morning. Lots of fresh fruit (I've been missing my fruit) & veggies for snacking!!!

    Welcome to the Team! One thing you can do to add exercise to your incredibly busy schedule is to shimmy at your desk. I'm not a student, but I DO have a desk I'm chained to. I'm often asked if I need the bathroom or if I have a treadmill back there. I smile & think about the calories that I'm burning. It's not a lot, but it adds up, especially since I try to always be in motion: swaying in line at the bank, rocking in my chair at the computer, etc. It adds up! See you on the boards, Lauri

    About McDonald's. I restrict my visits to specific events. After fasting for blood tests I will indulge in a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit and a hash brown. And if I have to rush to a meeting after work, I will get a regular cheeseburger and apple pie. And that's it!
