Keep looking UP! The scale has never been a 'friend' to me, so what I do is take a photo from time to time. The first month, I took a photo (from my web cam) every day. It is really fascinating to watch these photos in high speed as I shrink! Helps me to understand the changes I would go through if the trend was reversed! Photos are posted on my Google Blog which you can visit at: http://andrea-hodges.blogspot.com/ This very PUBLIC accountability tool has been helpful on keeping me focused on this journey. I try to provide a lot of useful information about bariatric surgery (from a personal perspective, and tons of other information I have found on the web, Spark (I give credit!), articles and books. Check it out, you might find something fun!

My Goals:
After top weight, my desire is finally feel normal again. To feel free to say YES! when asked to go on a walk, travel in a plane, or go horseback riding without worrying about how long the walk is, how I will fit in the airplane seat, or have sad feelings about the POOR HORSE!
My Program:
After ovarian cancer and starting healthy eating choices, I reached and plateaued after losing 60 pounds. So had Bariatric Surgery, and at last I feel in control over what I put in my mouth. This surgery does make it easier, thank heavens! But surgery by itselfwon't work without FOCUS. I joined Spark People to maintain focus. Hypoglycemia, Couchpotatoitis, and Hypertension concern me, so I have entered several programs to address those.
Personal Information:
Born in Canada, I lived in Pittsburgh PA for 10 years. Now I am living in Toronto, Ontario, am 61, retired, cancer free, and with the rest of my life ahead of me, I want to live it WELL!

Have loved travel and visited 13 countries on 5 different continents. Loved visiting all different cultures, which is great, because Toronto is the most multi-cultural city in the world.
