My name is Misty. I am an LPN working in Dialysis. My job doesn't require me to move a lot. Standing and sitting is how I spend my work days.
I was always fairly thin until about six or seven years ago. I would get my weight down, then regain. I am at the heaviest I have ever been in my life.
I have signed up to run the 5km in the Bluenose (did it once before in 2011) as well as Mud Hero (did it last year). I only have till May to get ready. I have started jogging, but am only up to 4.3 km in 40 mins and by the end I am ready to collapse. It's my weight. I have increased my activity level but I struggle so hard with Calories in. I LOVE junky food. All of it. I am working really hard at saying no. Wish me luck! :)

Update: (May 7, 2014)
I WAS at the heaviest I had ever been in my life... Since I joined Sparkpeople, I have lost a total of 28 lbs. Easter week was a bad week for me me and was also the week I had my first gain since I started on this new healthy living adventure.
I still struggle with saying no to goodies and treats but most days I can eat less of it at a time than I would have last year. I have a really bad memory when it comes to logging my food and I need to get better at it because the more weight I lose, the slower and harder it will be to get off. Accountability has never been my strong suit.
I am officially smaller than I was last summer and need to buy some new clothes :) I feel so much better than I have in a long time. Yay losing weight!!

Starting weight:

Feb 17, 2014 - 208.5 lbs (Oh how I hate to say that out loud ugggghhh)

First Goal Weight: 203.5 lbs - REACHED Feb 27, 2014!!
Second Goal Weight: 198.5 lbs - REACHED March 1, 2014
Third Goal Weight - 192.5 lbs - REACHED March 12, 2014
Fourth Goal Weight - 187.5 lbs - REACHED April 2, 2014

*I have been following the Sparkpeople nutrient intake and tracking everything I eat. I try to stay at the lower end of the recommendation. Some days (about once a week) I even seriously go over. I have been exercising too, at least three times a week. I'm not sure why I'm dropping weight quickly. I guess as long as I feel good, I'm going to keep doing what I'm doing :)
