The last time I logged into was nearly 3 years ago in January 2009. Needless to say, I did NOT meet my goal weight of 190 by 9/1/09; in fact, I gained more weight and was over 250 lbs. That had never happened to me before, and man oh man, did I feel lethargic and crappy.

In May 2010, at my heaviest, I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. That scared me into changing my life. Guess sometimes a health scare is enough motivation to stop being lazy. By the end of 2010 I was down about 25 lbs and my A1C was 5.3.

I managed to drop more weight in the beginning of 2011 and by summer was around 210 lbs. The past couple of months have been stressfull and I'm now starting SparkPeople again at 213 lbs, as of this morning. I have hit a plateau and need another push to jumpstart the weightloss journey. My current goal is to be under 200 by the new year - only 13 lbs to go! My friend Danielle and I are doing the weightloss goal together - she wants to be down 20 lbs or more - so hopefully we stick to our calorie intake, workout regimine and everything else.

I'm ready to be out of the 200s!

Lose at least 13 lbs by 12/31/11.

Be realistic.

Don't punish myself for splurges - just learn from mistakes.

Read more & watch less tv.

My Program:
I plan to work out 7 days a week for at least an hour each day, alternating cardio and strength training.

Eat healthier - more fruits & veggies, less potatoes and red meats!

Personal Information:
Born & raised in Iowa. Just bought a house, so hoping the home improvement projects will keep my hands busy working, and not snacking!

GW: 190

Other Information:
Inspirational poem::::
"Out of the night that covers me Black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever gods may be For my unconquerable soul.
In the fell clutch of circumstance, I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance, My head is bloody but unbowed.
Beyond this place of wrath and tears Looms but the horror of the shade. And yet the menace of the years Finds and shall find me unafraid.
It matters not how strait the gate, How charged with punishment the scroll. I am the Master of my fate; I am the Captain of my soul."
Invictus, William Earnest Henry
