Hi, Everyone! It's been a long, long time. I hope you're all well and planning to stay that way during this horrible pandemic! I'm still teaching myself how to do things I could do before without thinking about them (like going up and down stairs), but I manage 5,000+ steps/day on the treadmill, and have been doing so since New Year's Eve--fortunate, given what it's done for my lung-power. Haven't lost an ounce since five pounds, months ago, but haven't gained anything, either, so I guess that's good. I'm not planning to pose for Playboy Centerfold any time soon. :-)

My Goals:
I want to be the best me I can be--to wake up happy and full of energy in the morning, to be confident in my appearance and comfortable in my own skin . . . and I don't want to wince when I catch my reflection in the mirror.

My Program:
I've changed my attitude--toward my body, and toward myself. I *deserve* good things--and I deserve to be happy.

Personal Information:
I'm originally from New York, but have resided in several states in recent decades, and am also a British citizen. I'm a bit isolated in my current location, though I rarely have time to think about being lonely. I have an essentially sedentary and somewhat stressful occupation, and like too many people in our country, am living under constant threat of layoff. Stress nullifies my motivation, and plays havoc with my (non-insulin-dependent) diabetes. I think losing the weight that distresses me so will counteract a great deal of that, and help me to achieve a more positive outlook on life.

Other Information:
I like gardening, reading, writing, and a variety of music (almost anything but twangy mah dawg runned off wif mah woman country & western , rap, and heavy metal)--including classical, big band, jazz, and rock. I can't abide users or phonies, and have no patience for those who are ignorant and proud of it.

emoticon emoticon emoticon WELCOME TO SPARK!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon
Congrats on taking the first step into changing your life to a more healthier one by joining the site. Spark is filled with amazing people that will motivate, support and encourage you on your journey. There is so much to learn and discover here, take this one day at a time. A couple of things I would like to suggestion to make you Spark experience a great one.

    1. Make goals for yourself. Each month I make a list of what I want to accomplish that month and break them down to smaller goals to work with week by week. This way the BIG picture doesn't seem so big.

    2. Join Spark teams. There are tons of teams here and you will be able to find ones that fit to what you like or want in a team.

The key to success here is to be active and you've already started by joining. You will find that everyone is willing to help you out if you need it. Spark friends are here for support, motivation and encouragement. Good luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle! Again, welcome to the SP family!
