For His Glory
I am a Christian. If you don't believe in the Bible, my motivation will not make sense. ...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. I've always been a goal-setting person and I have been blessed to have positive things happen. Maintaining a healthy weight has never been on the list, because it required more "self-control" than I was willing to exert.
I am 43 years old and I am 77 lbs overweight (according to most charts). I know I don't have enough self-control to lose 77 lbs but I am sure I have enough to lose 1lb. So each day I plan to exercise enough self-control with meal choices and exercise to lose 1lb. My hope and prayer is that one will become two, then three, then four, then seventy-seven. Most of all I want to start the pattern of self-control so I can use it for a long list of other things.
I know I'll make it as long as I can stay focused on God.
