Hello fellow Spark Member. I have been 'active' with SparkPeople.com for about a year and a half and I am very pleased with the results. The tools and support provide by SparkPeople have been great. To this day log everything I consume and it really keeps me on track.

I was once young and fit but a serious injury followed a year later by a second, this time life threatening injury put me in a position to rely on prescription medications. It took more than 10 years of weight gain and total frustration to get myself back on track and return to taking proper care of myself.

Today I am happily married with two beautiful kids. I have a job that I enjoy, I live in a friendly neighborhood and spend what little spare time that I have with my horse who has been a part of my life for 20 years. I am exercising routinely and watching everything that I eat. I no longer feel that I am on a diet but rather that I consume healthy foods and I am improving my life. Thanks to SparkPeople.com I am a little more than half way to my goal weight and moving consistantly in the right direction.

Best wishes to all who are active on SparkPeople. Without the guidance that you have provided me I would not have been able to develop the level of self discipline that I needed to get myself on the right track.

Fitness Minutes: 10,487

My Goals:
Wow...I am down more than 50 lbs!!!

My first goal was to change my habits and my second goal was to get to the half way mark in my weight loss. Now that I have met those goals it is time for another - My parents' 50th wedding anniversary is right around the corner. I want to loose another 5.5 lbs before we travel out of town for the party.

My overall goal is to return to 155 lbs in a reasonable amount of time. I have changed my eating habits and increased the amount of exercise that I do every week. Now I need to be certain that this is a permanent habit.


My Program:
I log my food intake and exercise on a daily basis and I seriously control what and how much I eat.

Now that I am actually loosing weight I am also weighing myself every day or two.

I am married to the world's healthiest and most wonderful man. He provides me all the love and support I could ever ask for and never pressures me to loose weight. I have two beautiful daughters who I love and cherish with all my heart. And I also have a beautiful horse who has been an important part of my life for 20 years.

    Hi, Just commenting on a Blog you responded to. I too had a horrible time finding time to exercise, but I was losing slower than I wanted so I decided something "had to give". I walk on my lunch now. I asked my employer if it was possible, and after they encouraged it I felt obligated to give it a try. I started slow, and have moved up. I now walk a mile at lunch. It takes me in between 15-17 minutes and I still have a few minutes before of after to eat my lunch. It really inspired me again. I also found through comments that my On Demand cable had an exercise/fitness channel so every morning I get up another 30-45 minutes early and do either a Jillian Michael or a 10 minute work out depending on how much time I have. It has made such a difference to me emotionally I hope it works!!!!! emoticon
