I stumbled across this place on accident, and decided to try it out.

Two years ago I woke up. I was heavy & in bad bad shape physically and mentally. On an impulse, I bought a jogging stroller. The next day, I found myself on a jogging path - my 4 yr old on a bike next to me and my 2 years smilling from ear to ear - excited about the adventure, my 1st run in about 15 years. It turned out to be short lived. 1/8th of a mile later, I was gasping for air, and my entire body hurt, so much so that I became sick on the side of the trail. "Are you ok daddy?" I hear, "ya baby, I'm just a bit pathetic right now, but I'll be ok soon".

I racked up the miles with my runts & found a trail (for solo runs) that I fell in love with. Sugar Creek, a 5k trail loop with a few crazy hills. The 1st time I was able to complete the loop, was one of the best feeling I have felt in a long time. By the end of last year I was able to run the 5k loop 3 times in an outting. It hurt, but I loved it. I have realized that what I loved about it wasn't the physical part of the run, it was the mental focus I found.

I completed "Warrior Dash" early in the year and was in better shape, physically and mentally, than I had been in ages.

Then I slipped a little, then I slipped alot. So I am going to get back off my lazy tail and start moving again.

My two goals:

1) run Sugar Creek loop (5k) 4 times without stopping.
2) reclaim the mental focus that I can only seem to find when I am lying broken in a pike of sweat.
