My low carb start date was March 19th,2013
I have been eating low carb for four months on the 19th of this month(july). It was hard at first. I had a list of foods to eat from but I was scared that I would not count stuff right or eat the wrong thing. It has took me these four months to get really good at what works for me as far as low carb goes and learn how to count carbs so they work for me. I have to count every total carb that I eat. Eat very little cheese and drink at least 120oz of water a day. I had to give up the drink mixes that you put in the water because of hidden sugar, they have 0 carbs but still have sweetners, so sad. I have also about made my mine up that eggs stall my loss. I was eating them every day but I cut back on them because of slow loss and now I have started to lose again. I read somewhere that this lady had eggs to stall her weight loss so I thought why not. Our bodies are a funny thing and what works for some may not work for us. I was eating like 2 to 4 eggs a day but now I only have one a few times a week. At 4 months I am still learning about low carb so keep a open mind and read all you can about it. Keep up with the foods you eat, drugs you take, any changes you make and only make one change at a time. Only change things after something has not worked for you for 2 or 3 weeks.

THE SCALE
when I first started I had to get on the scale all day. I found that your weight goes up and down at different times of the day. So only get on of the mornings at the same time and let that be it. Now if you cant handle the scale not telling you what you want to I would not get on it every day. I found myself kicking the thing several times. Why I say if you cant handle it some will get off and walk to the kitchen and eat a pop tart because of the number they saw, you have to be able to kick it and move on..LOL

I have asthma, and bad acid reflux that causes me even more breathing problems. It seems like I am on steriods about every 2 months or more often for my breathing. I also have arthritis (o.a) in my knees and elbows. I have had scope clean up surgery on one knee two times now and am in need for total knee replacement on that knee but the Dr I have now says I am to young to have it at this time.

Went to the Dr today. My Dr had talked with my breathing and stomach Dr.s and they decided that I need to have Lap band surgery done to get a hold on my Acid reflux. The insurance I have will not pay for the Acid Reflux surgery for it has to many bad side affects and can not be undone if it needs to be. They say the lap band will do about the same thing, so they feel that is the best thing for to do to treat my acid reflux. I have several things I have to do to see if the insurance will pay for it for me, so the Dr thinks if all goes good I could have the surgery done by Dec or so.

To get to where my knee/kmees don't hurt me every day and to where I can breath like a normal person.


My Program:
I started out with Atkins but I found that counting Net carbs was not the way for me so I count total carbs now. I still eat from the Atkins food list tho.

I eat around 20 total carbs most days but sometimes I will have about 30or so to throw my body off as to what I am doing.



Personal Information:
I am from TN and I live in a very small town. I have 4 kids. My kids are my life. I know to some that don't make sense but to me it is just how it is.
