Thank you for stopping by my page. It is so nice to have someone to talk to and to relate to. In BC we don't fail kids anymore. But if we did my son would have been held back in kindergarten as well, as that is what his teacher told me. I thought that was so rude to say. This was before we knew my son had ADHD. He could not could past 13 and did not know all his abc's. But in Grade one he got it just like that. He was also put on medication after the first couple weeks of grade one. I took him to the family dr and had him tested. As I didn't want him to struggle through school. I feel that kids with ADHD are gifted, they are very bright and so so smart. SO much love to give. They just have a hard time applying themselves when they are not interested or can't be bothered. My son is excellent in math. I call him my math wiz kid. He loves to read, hate printing, writing because it takes patience. He takes his medication in the morning and I also give him an Omega 3 vitamin as well to give him that extra little bit of concentration and focus. It helps him. I try to keep my patience with him but the mornings are the hardest for him. So I am trying to come up with a few new things that may help get him up in the morning. So we will see how that goes.

It doesn't hurt to have him tested and if he does have ADHD then the proper steps can be taken to help him. He doesn't understand why he does the things he does. His little brain is going twice as fast as ours and it takes them that much longer to stop it or stop the behaviour when they get the Silly bug, as I call it. When they get ants in their pant. LOL. My son's father has ADHD, and it carries down from the male jeans. Males are twice as likley to get it if the father is ADHD.
