I was here over 5 years ago and became very sick and almost died and have not returned until now.

I had lost all my weight from being sick and kept it off for two years, but then I became very exhausted every day only to find out I had severe anemia.

All I could manage for almost 4 month's between work was to sleep. Because I was so tired I craved sugar and junk food, after 4 months I had gained 25 pounds, but it did not stop there.

Allot of changes at work where happening, some not good and I became angry and stressed for months, I became lazy both in fitness and in caring about what I ate, until recently where I have had a headache none stop for two months and nothing would help so finally went to see the doctor and went through many tests including a ct scan of my brain.
Although I did not get some results in yet, I did find out that for the first time in my life my blood pressure was high, and my cholesterol is high. Cholesterol by itself did not concern me, but the two together was a red flag for me.

I went to see a health consultant and worked out a food, supplement and fitness plan to help me get back into shape and reverse my high cholestrol and blood pressure.

I have also started back with my gi gong, meditation and soon yoga.

I am 47 going on 48 and I have been in surgical menopause for 13 years, with a very high family history of heart disease and strokes, so the odds are not with me, and I do not like that, as I would like to get older with grace, health, and fitness, and go into my golden years down the road with my husband being healthy so we can still do things together, this is what has really spurred me on to get started and the sooner the better.

I have a picture of what I look like now and what I use to look like, although you cannot see a close up of my face on two of them, I looked much healthier and radiant.

So tomorrow is officially my start date Sept. 10/2014 even though I have started getting information together and visiting a health consultant, and a week ago I have started a mild detox since I am on holidays for two weeks and not going anywhere, I have decided to make these two weeks about me and my health.

Both weeks I have bookings at the spa for my first facial, messages and steam baths. Taking time to research all I need to know about reversing blood pressure and high cholestrol naturally and getting what I need for that. And trying to get some needed down time.

It feels good to know sparks is still here for me and I look forward to using as much resources from here as I have time to, to help me on my journey.

My Goals:
to loose all the weight I gained 35 pounds, but this time to take it further and loose an extra 15 pounds to put me at the middle to low range for my healthy weight.

Also to gain back my strength and endurance, but to raise the bar this time and increase my strength and endurance and add to it flexabilaty and inner peace through yoga, stretches, chanting meditations and gi gong

My Program:
I am starting off very slow with being so out of shape and my health issues.

I plan to start off with stretches and 10 Min. of cardio for two weeks, and every two weeks to increase it by 5 minutes until I have reached 45 min.

I also plan to start my gi-gong and chanting meditations right away.

In about a month I will start my yoga, as by then my cardio and strength should be good enough to handle beginner yoga.

I am starting to take Krill oil, Magnesium, b12, vit. D, Q-10, other supplements to help lower blood pressure and cholestrol like Red Rice Yeast, among a few other needed supplements.

I have also added green tea to my breakfast, and Abiscus tea 3x a day for lowering my blood pressure.

I think that is it, and also trying to get a better sleep by having a routine an hour before bedtime and trying to go to bed and get up at the same time every day.

I am down to earth, easy going and open minded, and appreciate honousty in my friends.

I'm a world traveler, have no kids do to emergency surgery, I have two cats and a dog, a jack russel.

my husband is my best friend and we have been married 26 years.

I love movies that inspire, make me laugh or make me think.

I like almost all kinds of music, and from all over the world.

I love to read, mystery romance is one kind.

    I have started back up with sparks after a 4 year absence, and am glad to be back. I do not have allot of time to spend on the computer with full time work, making my own healthy meals, working out daily and tracking my progress, so at first I just was on my own, but it gets kind of lonely trying to loose weight and all the uphill battles I face, so thought I would open everything up to all and groups, and get the most from this sight as I used too.

    The reason I left years back is two reason, one I struggled for two month's with a sever bowel infection that eventually shut down and all my other organs were slowing down and I almost died, all because three different doctors opinion to find out what I had, misdiagnosed by all. Went to emergency when I was really bad and even though my urine was almost red, no concern or mention of it from the doctor, sent home saying I just needed more rest.

    Last doctor I went to see I was on my last legs and barely made it there, he could hardly here my heart and new I was in critical condition, I was sent to emergency with his firm insistance that I be checked for everything until they found the problem as I was not likely to live to long if they did not, thank God they found it on the first day, 24 hours later I was sent home on meds and than as I slowly got better I had a nervous breakdown that took me two years to get better from.

    I had lost allot of weight being so sick and I weighed 155 punds, and was doing good for almost a year when sever enemia hit me and for 4 months life was like walking through thick syrup I was so exhausted and I gained 20 pounds, all I could do was work and sleep for 4 months.

    when I did get better and have more energy I felt very lazy and unmotivated and just ate water I wanted, which was allot of fat and sugar (comfort food and sugar for energy) and gained another 6 pounds.

    I didn't know I gained so much as I never bothered with the scale, and my mental outlook was not very possative.

    One day I decided I did not want to feel this way anymore, as I saw life pass me by while I did nothing and ate.

    I got a physical that showed me my blood pressure and cholestrol where both high and that was a red flag for me for big troubles ahead if I did not do something about it now.

    I never had high blood pressure before and this was my wake up call to make permanent and sustainable changes.

    I have started off slow with changing my diet first. Than I created a work out program that is a step by step to start slow and work up to everything one baby step at a time. Then I joined back up with sparks a few weeks later, as they were a great help to me in the past.

    I have been doing good, keeping up with my goals, although today I took an unexpected day rest as I was very tired and not feeling well last night and decided to rest today other than work and back with it Wed. so it is not a failure, just a rest stop along the way to take care of myself in other ways.

    I have since talked to my family and relatives and we have made our own group call "girls kick ass weight loss group" and we weigh in every Wed. and give each other encouragement and support each week.

    This has been very helpful and surprising on the amount of support I got and those who wanted to join, we have 6 altogether which is 3 more than I expected.

    I purchased the tracker last week and it should be in this week, I look forward to challanging myslelf with it to make further progress along the way.

    I still take antidepressants but was able to lower the med's by 1/2 and that has given me more energy to work out and do more in my life.

    I find 99% of the time afer my works outs I feel emotionally on top of the world and have so much more energy after.

    My goals are to get down to my higher level of healthy weight and see how I feel once there whether I will stay there at 145 or go to middle ground at 135, where in the past I have always felt good at, but it has been 13 years since I have been at that weight.

    Also to lower my blood pressure and cholestrol, to become more flexable so that my balance is better as I age, I am currently 47 in Jan. will be 48 so I am thinking ahead how I want to look and feel, as balance is an important health issue when you get older with breaking a hip and dying earlier, I wanted to make that part of my goal through stretches and yoga, also doing excercises on the ball helps with this as well.

    I want to grow old with my husband and be active and fit through our golden years, I do not want to be krippled with heart disease or worse and have a low quality of life, to me that is not living regardless of how long I live.
