I am a 27 year old diabetic graphic designer. I have a wonderful husband and a smart little 5 year old son, and I thank God everyday for the blessings that He has given to me. I went from a very physical job to a desk job and put myself through college (2 years for a 4 year degree). My weight and physical fitness became an issue because I had a sedentary lifestyle and stopped being careful about what I ate. I want to be healthy and fit for my family, and change my lifestyle to keep my health on track.

***UPDATE***
On July 7th, I reached my goal and entered Maintenance Mode. I am having an interesting time learning to balance my fitness and calories to keep my weight steady instead of to lose weight. Getting in all of my calories on a vegan, whole foods diet without overstuffing oneself is hard, but I will do it!

My Goals:
I want to lose the 15 pounds that I recently regained (total 75 pounds lost) in a healthy way that I will be able to maintain for the long haul.

I want to be in the best shape of my life.

I want to grow closer to God as I make this journey because He is my strength.


My Program:
I work out at home and outdoors as much as I can. No gym for me!

Right now I am really enjoying the Peak10 workout dvds and mixing in some FIRM and Shiva Rhea yoga dvds. When I'm able to, I really enjoy jogging, trail running and doing intervals on the track.

I do about 45-60 minutes of cardio 6 times a week and strength training 2-3 times a week.

    I will start trying out your tips immediately. If I wait till tomorrow, it will probably never happen. I'm sure you know how that goes. I can't wait until I get to a point where it becomes habit and something that just comes natural to me. Thats honestly probably the hardest part for me, sticking to it long enough to make it habit.

    Sorry this isn't nearly as long as your comment, but I'm running short on time. Thank you again for your tips and support. I have no doubts that it will be most helpful.

    thank you for your nice comment on my photo! I see you are in Oregon? what part? I'm in Eugene/Springfield. Are you excited for the sun to finally show itself? Actually, I've been exercising outside all winter/spring for the most part anyway but I'm really happy that it's finally light and warm enough to get back into my early morning 5 am exercise routine now that the kids are out of school and my choices are limited. I better get going and get the kids up for church. Have a great day and feel free to keep in touch! :)
