Im Ashley and I've been overweight my whole life. I'm attending Bible college this fall and I would like to lose a significant amount of weight before I leave.

A little bit about me: I'm a dedicated Christian. I became a Christian when I was 5 years old. Recently I, my whole family actually, has been experiencing a spiritual revival that has been absolutely amazing!! I was homeschooled all the way since Kindergarten and graduated last May, eight days before my 17th birthday. I'm going to be attending Bible college this fall to begin a three year course. I enjoy swimming, walking/jogging, bicycling, cooking, reading, writing and playing piano.

I'm starting out at 193.5 pounds; however, the highest number I've seen on the scale was 196 about a week or so before that. I'm starting at size 16 pants and XL or XXL shirts. I would love to fit into a size 6 or 8 jeans and a S or M shirt. I have a pair of jeans from Aeropostale that are a size 7/8 and I would love to fit into those. I also have a size M polo from Aero that I would like to fit.

Run 50 miles by the end of August
June 7-3miles--3 miles total
June 9-1.5 miles--4.5 miles total
June 10-1.0 mile-5.5 miles total
June 11-1.5 miles-7.0 miles total

MY ELLIPTICAL GOALS
Complete 55 hours on the elliptical by the end of August

MY CYCLING GOALS
Cycle 100 miles by the end of August

My Goals:
-to lose about 60 pounds to weigh 130 pounds
-to make exercise a habitual routine
-to be able to run for a significant amount of time
-to run in a 5K
-to eventually be abbe to eat healthy and exercise without having to track everything all the time
-to always view food as fuel for my body, not as entertainment
-to slowly eliminate as many unnatural, processed foods as possible
-to burn 3000 calories a week through exercise
-to drink more water and milk and less pop, diet pop, fruit juice, sports drinks, sweetened coffees, etc.
-to cut out all refined and white flours, grains, and sugars
-to try out new exercises such as rock climbing and tennis


My Program:
I believe that God created food as fuel for our bodies and, therefore, if we eat the whole, natural foods that He created, we will stay healthy without having to think about it. So my "program" is to eat whole grains, fruits, vegetables, lean meats and seafood. I also limit my sugar intake and try to eat only log GI sugar such as honey, brown rice syrup, agave nectar, etc., and stay away from white sugar, corn syrup, glucose, fructose, dextrose, HFCS, as well as all artificial sweetners including Splenda.

I try to incorporate a variety of exercise into every week
-walking
-jogging
-cycling
-swimming
-elliptical
-strength training
My goal currently is to burn about 3,000 calories a week through exercise.



Personal Information:
-My name is Ashley.
-I live at home with my brother who is 11 months younger than me, and my two parents.
- I work at McDonalds. I've worked there for three years and am currently a team leader. I enjoy my job because I'm on my feet all day.
-I'm heading off to Bible college this fall for a three year course. When I've completed that, I am considering going to university/college to become a dietician or nutritionist.
-I play the piano. I've played for about 13 years and I really enjoy it. I'm taking the Royal Conservatory of Canada Grade 8 exam at the end of June.

    You have the same birthday as my baby girl! Happy belated birthday.

    Have you ever heard of creation principles? This is a biblical based way of eating that is referenced out of the bible. My dad is writing a book about it right now. Being raised off of garden food I know I was healthier, had fewer allergies, and didn't eat as much when my food came from the ground or when I made it from scratch.
