OK, it's one year later (from when I wrote in this space). Things really haven't changed much in that time!!

I actually had "if it's to be, it's up to me" running through my brain the last couple of days! How ironic!! I'd forgotten that I had it on my SparkPage. So once again, fall semester begins in about 30 days. Late last summer I joined Step Bet, and actually continued to walk for exercise until the end of September. But the number of steps I had to get in each day was too much, and two days after my Step Bet challenge ended, my leg hurt so bad I had to wear my "walking boot" (what I had to wear after I had my ankle fused 15 years ago). I didn't really get back to walking as exercise until the school ended in mid-May. However, I'm back out there every morning walking my two golden retrievers. I always say that they're taking ME for a walk! They love our 2+ mile walks. I'm currently in another Step Bet, so that also helps motivate me! I'll sign up for more Step Bets as long as the number of steps they set for me is reasonable. I also garden big time during the summer, so that's even more exercise added to my day! Yay for staying active, right?

Fitness Minutes: 73,349

My Goals:
1) to lose 10%of my weight before summer (June 1)

2) to exercise aerobically every day (currently I have a 33 day streak going!)

3) to beat my daughter in losing 24 lbs!! (we're having a friendly competition)

4) to lower my blood pressure

5) to significantly improve my cholesterol and triglyceride numbers before the Health Fair in March or April


My Program:
1) exercising aerobically every single day (if I fall off the wagon, I may not be able to get back on!) 33 days strong and counting!!

2) "dieting" but not on any particular program -- just healthy eating with appropriate serving sizes for now

3) will begin strength training and stretching program by September

4) avoiding all chocolate and candy because that's the sure way for me to fail!
