Introduction Text I've been on this journey for several years now to get healthy and lose weight. I've lost so many family members to cancer, including my mom and my grandfather within 18 days of each other. Heart disease and diabetes are also prevalent and I am determined to do all I can to try and prevent these diseases in myself. When I started this journey, I was a tight sized 16 and am now down to a size 10. I was having heart palpatations at least once a week. This would happen not when I was exercising but when I was sitting still. Since I began regular exericse and a better diet, those have disappeared. I also used to suffer with IBS and due to dietary changes, I've not had an "episode" (as I call them) in years. I have about 14 lbs to go to reach the goal my doctor and I have set. This will put me right at the mid-range of a healthy BMI. It's these last few pounds that are giving me fits! I've been on this current plateau for months, but it's my own doing. I fell off the wagon for quite some time as far as both eating and exercising regularly. It finally hit me a few weeks back that I must be a priority in my own life. I must stop with the excuses. I have complete control over whether or not I succeed and I fully intend on succeeding!
