I am currently a full-time volunteer in Jerusalem, Israel. I work in an office, eight hours a day, but also have the ability to walk year round as long as it's not too dark.

It's a 4 mile walk from my apartment to the office, a distance I've done once per day from August through November, twice per day from December through March, and am now back to once per day, or less, due to the heat (April through June).

June 21st I weighed myself, first weigh in since January and I'm now at 157lbs, only 3 lbs down from January. Since last June I have lost 8.5 inches from my waist, 6.5 from my hips (thanks squats for reversing that measurement decrease!) and overall measurements have all decreased as well. I have higher stamina, more ability to walk, and am having strength gains as I increase my bodyweight workouts.

My motivation keeps adapting, but I suppose that is to be expected. My current profile picture may give some hint of the reason my motivation has adapted... and I have less than 3 months till he is back in the country, and we'll be doing lots of fun fitness things together for the 3 months he is here.

My Goals:
My goal is to get fit. Period, full stop, end of story. Size and weight changes are a side benefit to improved fitness, strength, and stamina.

By September 2017 I want to be able to:
Run 1 mile ( I can walk 4 miles in 60 minute)
Do a handstand
Complete, and master, the sprint/pushup circuit - as well as the other self-defense moves I've been taught
Do 6 pull-ups (kipping permitted)

Complete my walk to Mordor, and maybe walk back to The Shire. (only 300 miles left to Mordor's Black Gate)


My Program:
Walking 100,000 steps per week.
Alternating days with the NerdFitness bodyweight workouts and progressing on their levels as I defeat the bosses.
Sprint Training one day per week, increasing frequency as my muscles improve.

Continuing to eat relatively healthy, and avoid processes sugars as much as possible.



Personal Information:
I have actually reached a balance of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and intend to keep on keeping on as the winter progresses.
Will update my blog once every month, to three months, depending on the progress made.


Other Information:
I have plenty of hobbies, including writing, metal detecting, spinning, knitting, self-defense, and researching everything.
