Life is what you make of it and I want to create a beautiful one! I want to enjoy every moment and savor every word as the healthiest me I can be.

I am a survivor. I have survived open heart surgert in October 2008 followed 7 weeks later by brain surgery. I just had a cardiac ablation in August 2010 that we are still waiting to see if it will be effective.

I was diagnosed with MS 6 years ago and have been on chemotherapy every since. (Thank God it's not the kind that makes someone lose their hair!) I had a severe MS espisode that left me almost completely blind and confined to my house for 11 months. Thankfully the majority of my sight has been restored.

For years I told NO ONE of what I was going through. I kept it from family, friends, everyone. When I was hospitalized after I lost my sight, I had to come clean - but only to my family and my very very closest friends. (There was no other way to explain why I stopped driving! LOL!)

But then just a few months ago, someone said something to me that felt like a slap in the face. They called me selfish. They said it was selfish of me not to let the people in my life who love and care about me know what I am going through. There is power in numbers. There is power in prayer.

So I told my story. I told it as a patient advocate to help others with MS. I told it to my co-workers and raised over $2300 for the National MS Society. And I am going to keep telling it. It's not enough that only some get diagnosed and treatment early. It needs to be everyone. And we need a cure.

If you met me in casual passing, you would never guess what I have been through. You would never guess my story. I work a full time (plus) job, run a busy home, and take care of myself. And that is my success.
