First time blog: I'm a 65 year old female, planning to run another marathon in January at WDW. Married, 4 grown children, 7 grandchildren. Always looking for inspiration to move my running along toward the goal of fitness.......and some weight loss.

My biggest diet issues are sugar and salt. I have slightly high blood pressure, and am working hard at keeping my sodium intake to a healthy level.

After tracking my food intake for a couple of weeks, I'm learning that my habits were (are?) really out of whack. I'm finding it hard to eat 12oo HEALTHY calories. It's a lot of food, when it's not empty calories!

This is an awesome site for health ... not just diet/weight loss.

My Goals:
My goal is to lose weight and become more fit. I'm registered to run the Disney maratho --- actually, the Goofy Challenge 2010 (running both the half marathon on Saturday, then the full marathon on Sunday).

My Program:
I have a training schedule (Galloway), and am run/walking at least 3x per week, and doing Curves circuit training 3 x a week.

Personal Information:
I live in a northern climate, where winter running poses a challenge, but the heat in the summer is very difficult in the summer. I enjoy running in the snow, but not the rain!

Other Information:
Favorite authors: Jodi Picoult, John Grisham. I read a lot of running books seeking inspiration and motivation!

Losing weight is a huge struggle for me. Sugar and salt are my enemies.

I drink too much diet soda.

    I saw Pat today, she's doing very well but very sore and slow. She has two rods in her back instead of one.
