Introduction Text Hi there. My name is Alicia, and although I've been a member of SP since February of '07, I can't seem to commit. I was eventually able to hit my 50 pound milestone... for all of one week. In March, 2009, my world came crashing down when I found out my 15-yr-old daughter had a brain tumor. My own health was the furthest thing from my mind at that point, and although the third surgery she had in 2011 was finally the one that cured her, I have not been able to get back on track- especially since unfairly losing my job that same year. The two relentless giants in my life- depression and food addiction- were back in full swing. I've since decided to go back to school, and recently, when seen at the doctor's office for bronchitis, I was appalled at how high my weight had climbed. So, here I am again... trying to make a New Year's Resolution stick this time. In the last year, my relationship with Christ has gone from white hot to lukewarm, so I also want to recommit to making Him a priority again. With His wisdom and strength to guide and sustain me, I've adopted the attitude that I want to exercise for health, not necessarily for the goal-weight. I firmly believe that changing my focus will ultimately be the key to my success. I've been battling my weight since I was 13 years old, and I look forward to a time when I can put the "fat girl" behind me once and for all. Here's to another year, and a happier, healthier me!

Well, I weighed 150 in high school, and I thought I was fat then. What I wouldn't give to be that weight now! I would be ecstatic to see a size 14 again! (I was an 18 when I got married.) I don't need to be super model thin; My goal is to be a healthy, realistic 150, so I can be there for my husband and children the way I need to be, and so I can enjoy life again!

It's all about portion control for me. As I continue to focus on God, I want my temple to be a healthy dwelling place for Him. I plan to limit my calorie intake by only eating when I'm truly hungry, and stopping before I stuff myself. I've also decided to get more active! I enjoy walking and Pilates, so those will be my two main staples of exercise as I focus on health, not weight loss. I will also throw in some strength training for toning purposes.

I'm a happily married mother of three who has recently found herself unemployed. Through the urging of God and some friends, I have decided to go back to school! I live in the mountains of PA where I also work on my writing career. I am an aspired novelist who finished my first piece of Christian Suspense on Mothers' Day Sunday of this year. I'm a scrapbooker! I'm very passionate about it, and it's my favorite leisure activity. Besides that, I enjoy reading, pencil puzzles and word games, and watching movies. I'm also a huge fan of So You Think You Can Dance. My other favorite "Boob Tube" addictions are The Big Bang Theory and watching old reruns of Psych on Netflix.
