Hi, I'm Rebecca. Being overweight has been a battle for me all my life. I remember dieting in high school and I believe my relationship to food has been pretty unhealthy much of my life. I have been up and down in my weight and have tried many diets. I started SparkPeople a couple years ago. I was losing weight slowly but steadily. I got away from tracking when we moved and then due to suddenly being a "single mom" for a period of 6 months while my husband worked in Israel, I stopped SparkPeople completely. During that time I went on an "easier" diet where you ate prepacked foods most of the time and lost weight quickly. I missed "real food" though and my system wasn't handling the stress well. So I had to stop that diet and slowly regained most of the weight back over the next few months. I have come to terms with the fact that I will always need to watch my weight and battle my tendency to overeat. I have decided I want to have a better relationship with food. Instead of avoiding it I want to embrace its beauty, to savor new spices and flavors, to explore healthier versions of foods I love. I have chosen to eat gluten free for the past 18 months and so I know I have the ability to make healthy changes that cause me to feel better. It's my turn to become strong, healthy and free from the aches and pains of too much weight holding me back. I know I need support as I make these changes and I hope to find others with similar goals to walk this path with me.

Hi Rebecca! Wishing you a fantastic Labor Day holiday and a safe one, too. The hints I sent were in the message I sent to you via Spark Mail when you asked me about how I did.

You sound like you are beginning to really get a good plan started for yourself! I think that is wonderful!! I'm so proud of you and I know you can do this. We CAN do it with helping each other and through our faith. He never leaves us and we trust in that!!

I am the force; I can clear any obstacle before me or I can be lost in the maze. My choice; my responsibility; win or lose, only I hold the key to my destiny."

Thanks a bunch for the flower pot goodie and compliment on my blog, that was so sweet of you. I hope you're having a good weekend. By the way, that picture of Josh and the crocodile always makes me smile when I come by your page. I have a son named Joshua...he just turned 28, but he has autism so mentally he's just a baby.

My sons were evaluated through our regional center and after turning three my youngest was also evaluated through the school. The youngest one I still wonder about, his stuff is not as severe. The regional center said autism the school district just said it was a delay but they were both offered services through regional center and were also able to get into special preschools through the school district.
