Hi, I live in the Roanoke, VA area, but originally hail from Rhode Island. I am hoping to learn much about a more healthy lifestyle on this site. I am already so encouraged by the weight loss of others. I want to lose at least 20 pounds by my 20th wedding anniversary on Sept 3 this year. I am a mom and stepmom of 5 children, and grandmother to 3 boys and a new babygirl. So, I want to be fit to run around with them.

Well, I had some down time..but I did reach my 20 pound goal in time for my 20 anniversary. Now it is onward bound to goal. I am going to do 5 pounds at a time.

Now I am heading for my birthday on February 20th..goal is to have lost 5 more big ones by then. I have just found a way to drink more water, since that has always been a big problem for me. I start with a glass of water when I pop out of bed in the morning. At least it has worked all week, we will see.

Well, I am back after 6 yrs of not writing a thing. And, it is almost time for my 26 yr wedding anniversary :-) And, I might add that I have an additional 1 pound off. I have never met my goals in all of these no journaling years. But, I am still working on losing another 13 lbs to make goal. And, I am exercising more on a daily basis then before. I have since retired, so no excuse for not taking care of my healthy lifestyle.

Well, here I am again 12/2014 I am down about 26 lbs. Still aiming to lose another 8 lbs. I am doing Jane Fonda, which I really like her videos, treadmill and of course there is always natural exercise, like housecleaning and shopping. I am still on this journey of healthy eating and fitness. I am so inspired by a lot of the spark people and others I have met. I continue with the saying that even losing .2 lbs will get me closer to my goal weight.

It is 1/2015 and I am still hanging in there with my healthy and fit goals. This month I went back to eating more whole foods and less processed, packaged food and snacks. Also, I am doing a variety of WATP and Fonda videos on Youtube. I have added a high intensity regimen to it as well. Will still use my treadmill on some days while it is still cold outside here. I am hoping to meet my weight loss goal by my birthday in February 2015.

Well, it is the day after my birthday in 2015, and I did not meet my goal weight. In fact, I am up a few pounds, having gone away to help my daughter out. As a result we did eat out quite a bit. It took a few days of getting back on track. I am slowly getting back to tracking, exercise and water consumption. I am not setting any goals right now. But, I do hope to get it finally off. I am going to tweak a few things, like eating power foods, more activity throughout the day and continuing to make better choices.

It is April 2015. and I have actually made my goal weight on my home scale. YEAH! But, unfortunately, I am doing WW and their scale does not reflect my goal weight yet. I will keep pushing through there. I think I will need to lose about 2 more pounds to make my goal weight there. I will give it another few weeks.

Well, I did it. I weighed in on October 8 ,2015 and met goal weight at Weight Watchers. I learned that I am actually a returning lifetime member and do not have to continue on the maintenance plan because of that status. Yeah! I just need to stay within 2lbs when I weigh in again. I have learned a lot about myself on this journey. I hope to keep up the good habits that I have developed.

Well, it is 11/2015, and I weighed in for my first LT status. I am down .6lb. I am still on SFT and loving it.

It is 4/16/17, and I have maintained my goal weight or a little under since reaching it on 10/08/15. Wow! such a great accomplishment for me. I don't think I ever maintained the first time that I reached goal in the mid 1990's. But, I didn't continue with monitoring my weight and fitness then. Too much going on in my adult life I guess. Now that I have been retired for almost 3 yrs, I can see that it is important to take care of myself for a healthier future.
