I am encouraged because SparkPeople has laid out a plan for me to reach my goal weight before I turn 50 (14 months from now) The plan seems doable and I have some other "Biggest Loser" competitions going on with family and friends which should help me on this journey. I became a grandma one year ago and I really want to be fit in order to keep up with "Sweet Caroline" plus I have high blood pressure and high cholesterol so guess you could say I have mulitple motivators. Thank you to all of you who have shared your stories--struggles and triumphs, tips, etc. Reading them makes me feel assured that we are in this thing together and I've always believed in the phrase "strength in numbers." Let's KICK BUTT:)

Fitness Minutes: 48,572

My Goals:
I want all of my numbers to be in the healthy range: BMI, weight, cholesterol and blood pressure. I will go from 193 pounds to 140 by April 2009.

My Program:
I will eat the bulk of my diet from veg, fruit and whole grains and supplement with dairy, meat. I will avoid processed and white foods. 90% of the time I will control what goes in my mouth by preparing it myself and only occasionally eating out.
Exercise will be power walking 60+ minutes a day supplemented with strength training.
Upon goal, I plan to cut the cardio to 30 minutes/day and emphasize the strength training.
I will enjoy the journey as it is life long.

Personal Information:
I am married and have two grown children who are my best friends. My son and wonderful daughter in law gave me a granddaughter, Caroline in April 2007. She is YaYa's sunshine. I have a boxer, Frida and a macaw, Pogo. I work as a Career Counselor at a vocational college. I love top down rides in my convertible, having my family over for Sunday dinner weekly, the sun, exercise, eating right, fashion and more.

Other Information:
Conquering my weight has made me feel I can accomplish anything I set my mind to. Not only do I have a new body but new found confidence as well.

    I joined WW 2 weeks ago and have lost 5 pounds. I have a great WW leader and am hoping to be to my goal by the first day of spring, 2010.
