5/09/2020 Hello! My name is Amy! I have used SparkPeople in the past to help me be greatly successful in losing weight and getting into shape, but have been away for almost 10 years...Yikes!! Time to get back after it! I am 45 years old (well, will be 46 in 9 days), and have found myself back over 200 pounds. I am also now battling Rheumatoid Arthritis, which makes things quite a bit more difficult. I have given myself a year to get this weight off before considering surgical measures. My hope is that this body will feel better, if I am just disciplined enough to push through the pain, and continue to eat right, as the weight comes off.

Ultimate goal of 130, but more to feel good about myself again and be comfortable in my skin.



My Program:
I am following Sparkpeople to keep my calories around 1200 per day, in the right proportion. I make my own menu, I don't follow the one they give on SP.

I started running in May of 2009, but have quit several times since then. I have come to the conclusion that I am not a runner. I hate it. It makes me hurt. It takes everything I have just to get through it. So, I have gone back to what I know works, and what I know I will stick with; my workout videos from The Firm. I love them!

80 %what you eat & 20% what you do (exercise)

Some people exercise like crazy, don't change their diet, then complain they are not losing weight. Others will totally revamp their diet and exercise only 3 days per week and drop the pounds. If you are struggling to lose, adjust your diet! I have a slow metabolism so if I eat more than 1500 calories per day I don't lose any weight!
You MUST control the food!!



Personal Information:
I am originally from the Denver metro area, but moved to Nebraska in May of 1999. I have met some wonderful people here and have become accustomed to the small town life, and it's great for raising a family.
