My name is Sharon, and my goal for this year is to lose some weight so that I can be healthy again. In December of 2006 I had a medical scare and discovered how I had neglected my health over the years, it was truly a wake up call for me. I realize that we have to be responsible for our own health, and I also know that it is important for women to realize that the # 1 killer is heart disease. So my aim is to stay healthy. I have been looking over some of the pages here and to my dismay have found that a lot of us here have health issues and it really sent a wake up call to me that we need to get our temples in order. I know that I don't move as much as I should so I am looking for a buddy system to help me reach that goal for this year. " I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills from whench cometh my help, my help cometh from the Lord who made heaven and earth."PSALM 121:1-2 . I have been away from Sparkspeople for a while now, and I have gained all of my weight back including a pound...I have been through some very trying times within the last 3 months with the passing of my Dad in May and then my little brother committing suicide in August, it has been more then I can bare so I have started eating more and more and gaining my weight back and not exercising.. I can feel that the weight is taking a toll on my body, I just turned 60 in July so I know that at this stage in my life I really need to be mindful of my diet.
I believe that our bodies are the temple of God and we should be very careful what we put into them, if we do our part God will do his. I have so much to live for and I want to do it in a healthy body, while I realize that not everyone is going to be thin, I do believe that we can be healthy. It is the choices that we make that will determine how we feel and look. I am ready for this battle once again, and I do believe that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I do look forward to my new journey here at SP.

Fitness Minutes: 98

My Goals:
My goals for this year is to lose weight, to get on an airplane for the first time, and to get more physically fit. also I would like to publish a book of my poems.

My Program:
Right now my program consists of eating better, less red meat,drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day, and walking about 2 or 3 times a day for at least 20 to 20 minutes. I am taking little baby steps until I can do better.

Personal Information:
I am from Detroit, but I currently reside in Warren mich.I am the Mother of four grown children, and I am a very proud grandmother of twelve. I now have a beautiful Great Granddaughter, and I am in School.

Other Information:
I love reading ,and writing my own poetry. I like to journal because it helps me keep foucused on the things going on in my life.My favorite movies are "Diary of a mad black women" by Tyler perry,and a "Long walk home" with Mindy Moore.
