a foodie goes clean.
i've slowly gained weight as i've gotten older and as my income has increased and i've enjoyed cooking and eating out! i lost almost 20 pounds before my wedding in 2006 (was at about 135 in those pics), and have put it all back on by eating unhealthily and not exercising. now i'm working to get it off again (and then some!) to get my body in shape for a future pregnancy, and to say i was happy with myself when i turn 30 in the spring!

My Goals:
my goals are to eat "clean," lower my portions, do cardio 4-6 times a week and strength training 3-4 times a week.
My Program:
eating clean:
avoiding overly processed foods, sticking to foods along the outside aisles of the grocery store, no refined carbs (replacing with sweet potatoes, whole wheat pasta and whole grain breads), no sugar except that which occurs naturally in foods (splenda is my friend), lower carb intake, lean proteins, higher good-fat to bad-fat ratio
and the most important part of my program: i allow myself one cheat meal a week...it keeps me from feeling like i'm giving up everything i love.
