September 2018: Overdue at 42 weeks Pregnant! I wish I had stayed on Sparkpeople during my pregnancy. ...I was so overworked and nausiated much of the time I lost touch with Sparkpeople. I gained too much weight but had a healthy, pregnancy and am now back to 'reclaim' my body.

2017: to fit into my true vintage 1950's wedding gown (I did)

2018-19: to live as long and healthy as possible for my husband and baby daughter Marilyn Tovah (born in September 2018.)

Hi I am Samantha, I was born three months premature on a Native American reservation in Montana, I am half German & half Native American. I've been living near Dusseldorf Germany for five years.

I am 35 years old and work as a social sciences teacher at a bilingual high school. This job literally has me on my feet all day and is full of all the challenges one can imagine working with children/families in an extremely bureaucratic/work obsessed society :) My work keeps me alert and Sparkpeople keeps me accountable!

My Goals:
I gained so much weight while pregnant! I gave birth in September 2018 and was cleared to workout again in December 2018. It's almost like starting the whole weight journey over again so here are some of my goals & statistics. I will measure this as long as it takes to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight.

POSTPARTUM RESTART.

Kettlebell Workout 3x a week
Postpartum exercise class 1x a week + 2x a week home practice


I walk constantly, that's the good thing about living and working in Western Europe. We rely a lot less on cars and are always running for trains, buses and trams.

I am fanatical about travel! :P I grew up working class and always wanted to travel so I work hard and save to be able to backpack in different countries. So far I have been to:

Other Information:
I joined Sparkpeople in 2010 while in grad school and lost around 80 pounds and kept it off. Then...I became pregnant and gave birth in September 2018! Well, I gained so much weight but it's ok because I know how to do this and love the discipline.

    Your little girl is adorable! My husband is the baby whisperer, too, when it comes to getting them to eat.. any baby, anywhere, any time... except ours, LOL. She went straight from the breast to solid food... she had 4 teeth at 7 months and she just wasn't keen on mush. Never mind that I took a baby food making class and had wonderful canned jars of organic, home-made pureed food of all sorts... she'd just spit it out and grin toothily at me, LOL. I ate purreed chicken, peas and squash for my lunch for three months so as to not waste it. SIGH. She's 14 now, still opinionated, still grinning cheekily, and eats like a small pony. Enjoy every moment!
