Hi I haven't been on Sparks in over a year. I have lost 105Lbs all together. Presently I'm living a dream. I went on a cruise to Alaska last Sept.I noticed that Holland America hired older people.I applied for a Security officer job in Denali ,Alaska.I was hired and have been in Alaska since April.I work 51/2 months of the year.I cruise the rest of the year. I will be home one month, then will cruise to Hawaii. In Jan,will cruise to Panama. After next season,I will cruise to Iceland. All this is possible because I lost all the weight and have more energy than I've had in years.Last summer I even climbed a 10,000 ft mountain.PS I still read a lot. Thanks for reading my blogs. 1688 days ago

Congrats on the weight loss. (No, you haven't met me yet, I just found your comment on a spark story and saw that you've lost about 90 lbs. That's about what i need to lose.) Speaking of books..... I've been looking for one I use to own, but musta lost. It is a youth book about girls and horses and is called The Coming of Flame. I don't know the name of the author. Setting, I think, is in South America (Argentina?) and the main character's name is Trudy Grant.
If someone has ever heard of this PLEASE let me know!
Meanwhile, some of my favorites are old ones like The Five Little Peppers and How they Grew by Margaret Sydney. and An Old Fashioned Girl by Louisa May Alcott. I love Jane Austen and think EVERY young woman should read her books. Sorry, I get carried away with books. In fact, I begin each of my blogs "Once Upon a Time..." lol
