My name is Lia. I've been struggling with my weight my whole life, and I'm ready to be done with the yo-yo dieting. I lost 70 lbs. about 7 years ago, which I kept off for about 5 years. The weight came back because I was single and drinking and going out to eat and not doing the time at the gym.
I belonged to LA Wt. Loss until they recently closed down this last November. I was successful and lost 30 lbs. I've been struggling ever since to try and not gain all of those 30 pounds back.

UPDATE: 1/28/09
I've been on Sparkpeople for a couple of weeks now, and still love it! My husband and I have been working out and eating right and seeing good results. I didn't weigh myself today, but so far I'm down 8 pounds, and he has lost 9. I already feel better and have more energy. I took the stairs today in the parking garage up 3 flights, WOO HOO! Just a little winded, but not too bad. I bought myself a cool little pedometer that counts my steps, distance and estimated calorie consumption. I am usually on my feet all day walking around the hospital, so this cool gadget will help me measure how much I'm doing (or not doing). I've been scouting out other people's spark pages trying to make new connections. I love SPARKPEOPLE!!

My Goals:
My goals are to be thinner, happier and healthier! I want to be able to shop in the regular women's department, not the plus sized. I know I have the ability to lose the weight, but I struggle with lack of self control when it comes to tempation for sweets and other goodies.

My Program:
I have started circuit training, and that is melting away the pounds!

Personal Information:
I am a Respiratory Therapist, and have been for about 10 years. I work three 12-hour shifts per week, leaving me plenty of time to exercise. (No excuses, right?!) Well, it's amazing how easy it is to sit on the couch, pick up the laptop and stay there.
I am married to a wonderful man who is very supportive. He is thinking of joining SparkPeople too. He is also wanting to drop some weight. I hope that we can do this together, but if not, I will proceed on my own. I'm doing this for me, and me alone.

    Glad to hear from you! I didn't really fall off the wagon, but haven't been taking things too seriously either. I've maintained, doing the workouts, but the eating is hard. Time to re-motivate! Keep in touch! Tricia

    Just stopping by to see how you're doing. I have been doing okay, but it's getting harder not seeing as much progress. I need to stay on the straight and narrow...forgot my lunch once this week and went out to eat a couple of times combined with a few cravings. Oh well, plan to get right back on the to you soon.
