My name is Shirley.
I am now 61 years young, and I love serving the Lord. I have been a member of SparkPeople for 2 years, although I sarted lossing weight 9 months before I joined Sparkpeople.
During the 9 months prior to Sparkpeople, I lost 15 pounds and was really struggling to lose addtional weight. That is when I joined SparkPeople on October 31, 2009. My weight ticker includes the 15 pounds I lost before SparkPeople.
So far I have lost total inches lost - it is a grand total of 20 inches. Now that is success!! I have lost the most in my hips ( 8 inches), no wonder my pant size keeps changing. My total weight loss is 40 pounds- and I am still going. Although I am losing weight very slowly right now (doing more maintaining than losing) I am not giving up - I know I can do this.
I am married and have been for almost 42 years. I have a wonderful son and daughter-in-law and two awesome grandsons (ages 6 and 4) that bring a lot of love and joy.
My main goal is that I want to be healthy enough to watch my grandsons as well as make it to my 50th wedding anniversary.

My Goals:
I want to be healthier and I would love to stop taking Lipitor (or at least reducce the amount).
I want to lose enough weight that I am not labeled as obese

My Program:
I need to actually increase the amount of food I am eating so that I am eating at least 1200 calories a day, and increase the amount of exercise I am doing.

I was born in Upland, California and grew up in Bloomington, California.
