I'm a 36 y/o from Massachusetts and I'm trying to get healthy & lose weight. Short term goal right now is to lose 10-15 lbs by May 31st, and I'm already down about 8. I'm looking to lose a total of 20-30 lbs by June 30th, if I can do more then that, that's great! I really need to get moving though! :) My long term and final goal is to be at 170 pounds.

I have decided to take that big step and lose weight, and trust me, it's a big one for me. This summer, I really want to have lost 15-40 pounds, I also want to fit better in a kayak, I want to be able to go for a hike without having to stop a million times, I also want to be lighter so that when on our motorcycle my butt isn't hanging off of the seat like it does now.

I have been eating better over the past few weeks and I have already lost some weight, but i need to kick it into high gear and start being more active. Summer is right around the corner and I need to change the way I live and eat. I moved back in October and I now have to walk to the train everyday, it's just under a mile and it takes me about 17 minutes. When I started walking to the train it was taking me 20 minutes, but I've been able to cut it down some which is great.

I've thought of some goals, here they are:
To touch my toes without bending my knees.
To do push-ups without being on knees.
To not shop in the plus size department anymore.
To be able to run a mile without stopping (or dying).
To keep eating healthy & staying healthy after I have reached my goal weight.

Goal weights and rewards:
Goal #1 280lbs -- A workout DVD

I need to try to do the following each day from now on:
~ Cardio (of any kind) for at least 30 min.
~ Need to walk at least 5,000 steps a day (hard for me)
~ Drink at least 64 oz of water
~ I need to live and enjoy life like it's my last day alive!
~ Enjoy life in ways other then food.

Would you hop on a treadmill and allow yourself to feel the satisfaction of completing your first one mile run?

Would you walk into your gym's weight room after checking your pride at the door, so you could gradually see your body transform before your own eyes?

Would you sign up and train to run a 10 mile road race, having never run more than a few miles at best, and raise your hands up high as you cross your first "finish line"?

Would you then dare to sign up and train for a marathon so you could stare at your finisher's medal with teary eyes and say, "There were days that I did not know if I could run a marathon; I now have a lifetime of knowing I did."

My Goals:
I REALLY want to run a mile someday, I don't care how long it takes me but I want to run a full mile without stopping! I've always hated running, but I think if it's something I want to do, then I'll do it without hating it.

Drink 8, 8 oz glasses of water a day.

Eat at least 3-5 fruits and veggies daily.

Work out 3-4 nights a week.

Go for a 1+ mile walk once or twice a week.

Ride exercise bike 4-5 days a week for at 25-30 min's.

Do the wii fit or a workout dvd 3-4 times a week for at least 25 mins.

My Program:
I am eating better and walking about a mile every day.

I need to start doing my Wii Fit again as well as my Slim in 6 DVD.

I am going to try to go for a walk and do some situps on the weekends. I also want to start using my weight bands to make my arms stronger.

Personal Information:
I work full time at a bank. I have a wonderful boyfriend whom I love very much. I have a great family and wonderful friends.

Other Information:
I love reading, camping, riding on our motorcycle, kayaking, walking. I love going to RED SOX games! I also love going for long rides alone in my car, sometimes I need time to just sit, drive & think. :)

I love watching TV, which in a way is a bad thing, but I only watch it at night after I exercise & eat dinner, so I guess it's not that bad! I LOVE Big brother, CSI, NCIS, NCIS LA, Survivor, Ghost hunters, anything on TLC and the Home Makeover show on Sunday nights.
