Hi! I am 37 years old, a stay-at-home mom of 2 boys (8 and 1), grad student, substitute teacher, and live in NC. I have 105 lbs to lose, and thought I'd try SP since I've tried everything else out there. My father has many health issues related to diabetes, and since I had gestational twice, I am at a higher risk for developing diabetes. I hope that with my weight loss, I can stave that off as long as I can.

    Thanks for the new jeans! I have to say I am starting to enjoy clothes shopping again.

    Your loss of 15 lbs is a lot! Congrats on that and keep going! It is frustrating at first, I think cause the big girl sizes take longer to move down from. LOL I was happy for that when I was on my way up the scale, but frustrated on my way down!

    Think of a 15 lb sack of potatoes! You have lost that much! Have you measured yourself yet? You have to be feeling it in your clothes! I was surprised when I pulled up the old photo and did the comparison I posted, I didnt realize my loss had made THAT much of a difference. Go find an old photo of you at your highest and compare, you will see a difference with the 15 lbs!

    I see you had gestational diabetes. That's one of the main reasons I joined SparkPeople too. We just HAVE to lose weight and stay away from Type 2. Let's really, really do it, okay? emoticon

    I just wanted to say thank you for all your kind words. I am starting to feel more like myself. I cant believe what a toll all of that took on me emotionally, but I think talking about it and just getting it out really helped. I thank you so much for letting me vent on you. You have no idea how much that helped me to start moving forward.
