Parttime doing this and parttime doing that. A single mother of 5 great kids. I have 6 more day care kids. Part of the time I'm gardening, Part of the time I'm replanting after all the kids have dug up the flowers. Part of the time we're quietly reading books and part of the time we're taking a not so quiet walk.

Have gone from a not so active lifestyle to walking about 5 mile each day. From fast food drive thrus to having not gone through the drive since Feb 1 and not missing it. Have been inside fast food joints but have gotten salads and apples.

I'M FULL TIME SERIOUS ABOUT LOSING WEIGHT.

For me the secret is that I'm serious about losing. It's never "if" I'm going to lose - it's WHEN I do lose.I'm not "dieting" I've just changed my eating style and portion size and got off the couch and started walking.

For me it's been easy because I know it's possible. I don't have time to second guess every little bump. I would rather be out playing with the kids.

BELIEVE YOU'RE GOING TO DO IT - THEN PLAN WHATEVER IT TAKES TO REACH YOU GOALS.

My Goals:
to GO FROM 292#
(1-31-06) to 150#s by 6-25-07

to lose over 10#s during Lent (Done)
To increase the activity level of my entire family.

To lower my BMI to below 24 (as of Oct 24, it''s below 30)


My Program:
I began walking around the block then slowly increased a block at a time until I now challenge myself to walk 5 miles a day. Usually 1-miles trips with at least 2 of them slow because of 4-8 kids I need to take along during the day. I''m weakest at strength training but attempt it at least 3 times a week.



I always stay within my calorie range usually toward the middle lower end. I fill out the food tracker before I eat and try to stick with what I planned. Surprises are Ok earlier in the day because I usually have several hundred calories to play with in the evenings.



I''m into several challenges here and I refuse to not meet those challenges. I have figures out how much I want to lose each month in order to meet my end goal and I will push to reach each and every goal.



Personal Information:
I''m from Illinois and am a single parent of 5 cuties. Also have 6 daycare kids daily. We love flower gardening. I plant flowers -they pick them.


Other Information:
My kids and I just started geocaching in November and so far we love it. The hikes up and down some of these hills gives me a good workout.

    Sounds like you're getting into a routine. Walking is a great exercise & skipping the drive through is a wonderful way to avoid those high calorie foods

    Are you interested in a Challenge?

    The Biggest Loser goes for 10 weeks. It consists of 10 teams participating in weekly Fitness and Nutrition challenges. The Winter challenge will be getting started the beginning of December. It consists of fitness and nutrition challenges that are often in a form of a game. If for some reason you cannot do a challenge then they are modified to meat your needs. Often we do the challenge in a game form, we have BINGO and TIC TAC TOE or seasonally themed. For Fall we had a World Series and a Haunted House.
